  1. Better street type tires if hardly ever going off road?

My sense as well. Takes nothing to spin the rears even in the dry, though in fairness I still have less than 1000 miles on them. Haven't had much need for 4A yet but what little I have done in it, there's no doubt that the RR is far better under hard throttle. But traction in 2H is either a...
  2. Want to see some gore?

Our local regional tech school does worlds better welding than that. That job borders on criminal.
  3. Auto Fold Mirrors

You can fold the mirrors at anytime using the switch on the door as long as auto fold is enabled. I found this out the hard way driving down the road when I tried to adjust my mirror, hit the wrong button and the mirrors folded in on me. Presumably a feature for tight trails when off-roading...
  4. Ranger Raptor VS. F150 Lariat

You cant go wrong with the RR. If you wind up with the Lariat, you'll never know the joy of being one of the fraternity. Chance encounter just this morning...
  5. Cooling Fan issues

Do you recall what sort of water/oil temps you were seeing... elevated or normal?
  6. RR back from dealership still no steering icon on IPC and the steering button doesn’t work.. they do not know what to … now this….

You can go here: https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/ Enter your VIN and its should tell you if you need an update or not. Mine reports I have auto update enable and Im up to date.
  7. Ranger Raptor VS. F150 Lariat

Raptor only requires 87 (regular), unless you flash it in which case it requires 91.
  8. RR back from dealership still no steering icon on IPC and the steering button doesn’t work.. they do not know what to … now this….

Havent a clue, but it sure seems as though someone loaded an incorrect version of Sync on your truck and it took despite not being a Mach-E. I assume all the Sync base software/hardware is the same or at least similar, but some features, like the steering button are supported by specific...
  9. Ranger Raptor VS. F150 Lariat

Recently sold my 2018 F150 and ultimately wound up with RR. The F150 is hands down the more practical vehicle which is in a round about way made it too impractical in my case. Biggest issue has been the size which meant my wife refused to every drive if she had anywhere to go that involved...
  10. Secrets, Tips & Tricks...Post Them Here

Sounds like you're in 4H which would explain the 10MPG US as well. I'm getting double that driving in 2H.
  11. Steering feels stiff after vacation.

AFAIK, yeah its only on the Raptor.
  12. Steering feels stiff after vacation.

Theres a button that controls steering feel in the right side cluster. Click the button and the modes show up in the center stack, click again to cycle through. Me, I run in sport mode, prefer the heft in corners.
  13. Brake pads and/or Rotors for better pedal feel?

The pedal ain't great, but AFAIC the bigger braking performance problem is the K03s. Been very gentle breaking the pads in, but... Massholes... had two hard stopping situations where it sure felt like the fronts locked up. Just 400 or so miles on my set so far; fingers crossed they eventually...
  14. Octane boost with premium plus 90 octane

Which somewhat begs the opposite question. Do we know the penalty for running 87? Has anyone bothered to dyno the stock tune on regular... or 93 for that matter?
  15. My dealer won't install Ranger Raptor 3.0l Ecoboost Performance Calibration

You might try McGovern in Framingham. Just bought my truck from the last weekend. After I took deliver, the saleman mentioned that I could flash the truck for more power. I let him know I was aware of that and figured I'd do it at the first oil change. He said that was a pretty common...
  16. Who's running 20" wheels?

Had one of those myself a few years back. Helluva motor and quite the sleeper. Anyhoo, I'm also in the minority camp who bought into the RR for street duty. Only dirt roads it will see wouldn't pose much of a problem for your average AWD sedan. If Ford ever builds a Ranger Raptor Lobo...
  17. Marsh Gray disappeared

Marsh Gray wasn't my first choice, but not my last either. I've grown to appreciate it a little more each day. At least its a little unusual which minimally makes it easier to spot in a crowded parking lot. I also prefer a non-metallic which in bright light makes it look as if the paint is...
  18. Another new Raptor owner

Yeah, it was quite a nice surprise to see one on my first full day of ownership. Pretty rare sight around here, might see an F150 once every few months. Can't recall ever seeing a Bronco Raptor except on the lot. Same with the Ranger. That said, seems like RR production is up a little, as...
  19. Another new Raptor owner

Funny that. On the way back from getting some fresh bagels early this morning, I came upon an F150 Raptor heading in the opposite direction. Instinctively, I waved, but immediately felt a little foolish. Nobody around here waves anymore unless its with a middle finger extended. Be damned if he...
  20. Another new Raptor owner

TLDR: So if you've aged out of motorsports, but you already miss the race car you just sold along with the F150 that towed it, whaddya do to ease the pain? We'll, perhaps like me, you find yourself looking at all the usual sporty SUV suspects 'cause you need the utility, but have to have some...
