Carbon fiber is the most preferred material for high end air boxes. Light weight, strong, and good thermal properties. Most of your exotic cars run carbon fiber air boxes. Who makes one for the RR?
Not here to argue. So you are saying the engine bay temps are not going to go down if you are working the engine hard rock crawling at slow speed and then go on a trail at 30 to 40 mph?
Any minute difference in intake air between aluminum and plastic intakes is negligible in a turbo charged...
Once the plastic air box is heat soaked it will heat the intake air just like the aluminum box. Only difference is if the engine bay starts to cool down the aluminum will cool down while the plastic will continue giving off more heat.
Aluminum intakes are superior to cheap plastic CAI in almost every way. They are stronger, will handle off-road abuse, and piPE’s will typically flow better. Aluminum will transfer heat more efficiently than plastic, but it will also not become heat soaked like plastic. Once a plastic air box...
Directions and parts are at Bronco6G Forum using a wire harness from JHForman. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/color-changing-ambient-lighting-using-ford-oem-parts.42484/ I just did single color LEDs and also did the rear seat footwells.
Below is what I have changed and verified works on my 2024 Ranger Raptor NA:
BdyCM Plain English
Using Front Fog with High Beam, 1-inhibited to 0-allowed
I ordered the Cobb intercooler with their only sale of the year the other day. Got the tuner from Lethal Performance. Charge air temps run pretty high on the factory tune.
Tried to update my previous post and ended up deleting it. I did confirm today thhat the changes to the APIM and ABS module did add trail turn assist to my Ranger Raptor and it seems to work just fine.
APIM As-built 7D0-10-02 was 0000 0E71 0068 changed to 0000 0E75 00xx
ABS As-built 760-03-01...
Put the finishing touches on the lighted cup holders with acrylic Raptor coasters. Added PPE to the door sills and Fast Intentions Bronco Raptor door sill guards for the front in the front and the back.
Sorry, I do not have the part numbers I used as I did this to my Bronco over a year ago and just took the parts out. I used the cupholder in the Bronco6G posts, but used single color blue ice LEDs that I do not have the part numbers for. I remember the single color LEDs were over half the cost.
Should work on the Ranger. This is what I did on my Bronco Raptor and then installed on the Ranger Raptor. The only difference is I used single color blue ice LEDs because they were a lot cheaper and it is the color I like since it matches all the factory buttons and switches.
Sorry, I thouht you quoted my reply. I believe the ambient lighting colors are in the APIM if I remember correctly. The color changing should work if you change the LEDs. This has been done on Super Duties I know.
Nothing with Forscan. I physically added ambient cup holder and rear seat LEDs from other Ford vehicles added a wiring harness to connect into the light above the glove box.
You need to replace the installed leds with rgb leds to get the color changing to work after adding in Forscan. I only had blue ice leds for the cup holders and rear seats when I added them to the Ranger Raptor and just went with that. The shifter and all other buttons are blue ice so I think it...
