Is fuel theft really that big of a problem? I’m truly interested, maybe I’ve missed something.
I’ve never had a locking fuel cap on a car, and never felt the need to retro-fit one.
The ease of use of the Easy cap is a benefit in my view….
In fact In the past I’ve removed locking filler caps...
Nice! I’ve considered taking my FX4 decals off….no noticeable fade after a year? Although black is likey a better colour than cactus grey for fade resistance
Yep. This. If you have a smart phone, you’ve got WAY MORE available through CarPlay/android auto. You’ll lose Alexa, but can use Siri or whatever digital assistant android uses, and you’ll lose the ford nav, but google/apple Maps will be better and always up to date through your connected...
Yep! Would’ve happily paid and extra $100 for my truck to have these stock…the only difference now is I gave ford free labour to install them and the brackets aren’t colour matched…
did you remove the prop or just leave it permanently in its clips?
and then I actually watched this and I might be back to squareone!
i agree that the raptor shocks are all techy and valved, but A) I don’t believe my FX4 shocks are, and B) if I change the whole shebangle, they should function properly as a shock/spring- coil-over set, no?
I do agree with the...
Whoa, thanks for all the thoughtful replies! It seems at a minimum I’d do a 1.5” or so front coil over with matched rear shocks. UCAs are interesting, but may not be an absolute requirement at a relatively low lift height, but again, if I’ve got it all apart, why not put all the right bits in...
I have a Weather Tech trifold cover. It’s not “lockable” itself, but the release latches are inside the tail gate, so if the truck is locked, the cover’s locked.
I’ve gone through the car wash with cardboard boxes in the bed, with no issues…only a trickle of water gets in…
I like it, it’s easy...
I’m not new to lifting vehicles, but it’s been a looong time since I lifted my 98 wrangler, and at that time I was willing to put up with some issues, because of cost and youth.
Now I want to do it as right as possible and the use case for my Lariat FX4 is a bit different. Its my daily mostly...
Mine’s a Lariat - I can get 2 of: trans, oil, or boost in the center 2 “selectable” gauges…
Then the 2 non-selectable (outboard) are coolant/engine temp, and fuel level.
But none have numerical values - all just dial indicators. That what you mean?
Agree 100%!!
The desert sand looks great!
They were the First thing I did to mine, and I bought them from Ford Accessories with my rewards points!
Is your Ford oval blacked out??
Yeah, that’s how I understand them working - if you put 1000’ of dirt in the bed, the lights would otherwise be blinding oncoming, so they auto tilt to compensate…
A level/lift would upset the aim in the same way, but is the system smart enough to level? AND does it have enough range in the auto...
Do they come to level eventually though?
they do a little “self test dance” when you turn the truck on - I assume every time, but only noticeable when pointed at a solid object and dark (ish).
would the 1.5 leveling kit only require headlight adjustment? (Other than the springs etc, and an...
Bags or containers fit for the “shoulder” of the rear seat. - to hold small tools etc…in the dead space between the seat and the door pillar. Perhaps Velcro attached to the rear bulkhead.
Thanks for the coupon!
Also interested in anyone’s experience. Particularly on a 24 Lariat 1.5“ level only as it relates to Forscan/headlight changes? what would need to be done after the hardware install?
Thanks!
Same. First thought was why didn’t they come stock?! They’re great, I agree with the harder hood closure now though, @hand-filer how did you adjust the latch??
