  1. Disabling start stop

Not to hijack this thread, but has anybody had any issues when taking your truck to the dealership with any type of start/stop eliminator installed? I ask because we have a Forester and I was told by a service writer on the sly to remove it before we left it for service or they may find...
  2. Anybody with a bed extender that isn’t the Ford one?

@Garaged One that folds in the middle would be my first choice as it's what I currently have on my F150. Being able to fold it off to each side beats having to remove it when I need to get things in and out.
  3. Solution to the tailgate extender problem!

Great write up, just looking at Lowes, I'm seeing 5", 7" & 9" , what size were the gusset plates you used?
  4. Anybody with a bed extender that isn’t the Ford one?

Thanks, I just found your other post, that looks like the best way to go until someone makes one that will fit right out of the box. https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/solution-to-the-tailgate-extender-problem.12581/#post-194356
  5. Anybody with a bed extender that isn’t the Ford one?

I'm starting to convince myself that I would be happier with a RR over a Lariat FX4. That being said, I've had bed extenders on 2 of my 4 trucks, it just makes the truck be so much more versatile. But I can't seem to find a definitive answer, is there a bed extender available that truly...
  6. Otay Mountain Truck Trail San Diego, CA

Looks like fun! You nailed one of the reasons I'm looking to replace my F150 with a Ranger. The F150 is just too wide to avoid pin striping on most trails.
  7. Raptor Poll: Decal Package or not?

I say to each his own. First thing I did with my F-150 FX4 was to remove the graphics, if I'm able to buy a Raptor next year, I'd prefer it without the graphics.
  8. Why is 2024 Ranger Build and Price still showing after order bank closed?

I'm watching as well, curious to see what all the different trim levels are so maybe I can decide what I can afford.
  9. Removed running boards

Not on a Ranger, but my personal experience....removed running boards on my F150, installed Amp Power Steps but also added mild fender flares to help prevent the bigger tires from throwing up rocks.
  10. Ford Price Discount Plans (X-Plan, A-Plan, D-Plan, Z-Plan)

I just went to the build page and selected 4X4 and on the very last page bottom, sure enough, there's the X-Plan price. Like I said earlier, "operator error".
  11. Ford Price Discount Plans (X-Plan, A-Plan, D-Plan, Z-Plan)

Interesting...I just tried it again and if I choose "all Drivelines" I can see a price, but if I select 4X2 or 4X4 I still get the "pricing not available" message. Probably "operator error" on my part.
  12. Ford Price Discount Plans (X-Plan, A-Plan, D-Plan, Z-Plan)

I'm not planning on replacing my F150 with a Ranger until 2025, but today I logged in to the Ford X-Plan site just to try to get an idea of the potential savings and was very disappointed to see this message for all trim levels with 4x4, 4x2 was still showing a price. "Pricing for this vehicle...
  13. New Guy Done Lurking!

@Jason B - warm up that wallet and CC. Oh yeah, nothing stays "factory stock" for long!
  14. New Guy Done Lurking!

@Peter949 And that's the part I don't get, yes, the F150 is nice and popular, but for a lot of people, myself included, just don't want a large truck anymore. Our daughter is grown and out of the house, so the Ranger is just the right size for us for camping and just about anything else...
  15. New Guy Done Lurking!

Thanks, kind of what I'd been reading too. I like the Raptor, but if what I've read is correct, the reduced towing & payload, not to mention price, made the Tremor or Lariat FX4 package appealing to me.
  16. New Guy Done Lurking!

OK, done lurking, signed up today. Over the years I've had a 1994 Ranger Super Cab with a 4.0 V6. 2003 Sport Trac with 4.0 V6 and currently daily driver is a 2012 F150 FX4 5.0. I find the new mid size Ranger appealing, we no longer need the big F150, but I'm waiting for the 2025 (Tremor...
