The 2.3L seems to have plenty of power. Don't know how that plays out if you up the tire size a lot. If you ask me the 2.3L is the tried and true engine that gets good mpg's.
They also put a bunch of crap on the Tacoma. Definitely not an apples to apples comparison. The FX4 and the TRD offroad compete with each other. They did kind of show that Toyota's traction control system works better than Fords, but you know lock the differential. I sat in the new Tacoma...
Nice to see Australian parts making it to the US already. I want an old man emu lift kit, skid plates, rock sliders and a front bumper. Are you guys going to be an importer for all this stuff or just for the skid plates?
The Raptor is built for high speed desert running. My thoughts were for overlanding I need a suspension that can handle more weight, kind of like a Tacoma Trailhunter vs TRD Pro. Also I didn't need the premium interior, I'm probably going to beat this truck up a bit.
I think they are to handle the weight for people putting rooftop tents and stuff on. I will probably only get a rooftop tent if I plan on going into Grizzly country.
No, I have an FX4 that I plan on modifying for overland. There aren't much in the way of aftermarket parts for the new Ranger yet, so it might be a while.
