I did somewhat of a deep-dive into the illusion of our infrastructure not being nearly close enough to a mostly-electric vehicle future over on the Maverick Truck Club forum.
The TL;DR of it is that we don't need nearly the push people think we do to get to where we need to be for that to be a...
You can absolutely look at it as the government pushing it down your throat.
I'd MUCH rather look at it as not sending my money to Saudi Arabia and to other countries that actively hate and plot against the US and Western civilization. Battery sourcing is definitely an issue at the moment, due...
*Raises hand*
I absolutely want a hybrid truck. Insane torque numbers, increased ~20% (or better) fuel efficiency, hybrid also means pro-power on board for the worksite and for home emergencies, perfect setup for boondock camping, and if it is a plug-in hybrid with 25 miles of range or better...
It's important to remember that (in all likelihood) a standard hybrid in any mid-size or larger truck will likely continue down the same road that Ford's PowerBoost and Toyota's i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrains are on: more concerned with torque/power delivery than fuel efficiency.
A "true" truck...
I fully understand it is a plug-in hybrid and your flippant sarcasm is unnecessary, sir.
Once the all-electric capacity is depleted, it still operates as a traditional hybrid but with a substantially larger hybrid battery. Your comment mentioned about HAVING to plug it in, which is not...
It's hard to understand because there has not been and never will be a price increase commensurate to an increase in labor costs. For reference, the numbers I will be using below come from a 2017 report, so pre-pandemic figures, as well as this archived release from the UAW in 2007 before they...
Have you not been seeing the price increases over the last decade, when there was zero changes to their labor contract?
Ford will continue to raise prices as long as and as much as they possibly can; now they just have an additional scapegoat for dumb people to blame. I've already seen posts on...
You have to remember the Canyon comes with the 2.7l as well at that price point.
A Canyon Denali with 2.7l, trailering package (7700 rating), ventilated seats, driver HUD, and moonroof comes in at $54k. I don't think the Ranger Lariat stands much of a chance at $51k for people who actually want...
As someone who has color blindness, I feel like Ford has enjoyed screwing with me when it comes to colors that look different in different lighting and all the muted greys they've been throwing out. My eye likes strong, discernable colors. Someone described it as "Root Beer" and that's all I can...
I consider myself fortunate that my Maverick is currently being shipped from the factory and I should be more than okay driving it around for a few years until Ford gets their head out of their butt with the Ranger and adds in my wanted options along with hopefully a PHEV drivetrain.
I have heard it pronounced the Latin/Euro way my entire life and don't think less of anyone who pronounces it differently. And odds are that if people mispronounce something, it is because they learned it by reading it. If someone mispronounces it while being snobby, sure, let them have it. But...
I think us color-blind folks are even MORE upset with the color selection. Most of us like stronger colors that are easily identifiable. That's part of the reason I love Eruption Green and Velocity Blue and Hot Pepper Red; ain't no doubt about what those colors are (outside of the "shifting"...
Lack of ventilated seats is easily the biggest disappointment for me. Things like that and moonroofs don't need to be standard, but in 2023 on a $40k+ vehicle they should absolutely be an available option.
100% valid.
I am not aware of warranty coverage with Line-X, but I imagine they probably offer something similar to the factory warranty.
I personally opted for the factory SIBL for my Maverick and expect it to be more than sufficient for what I will need it for. But I have seen a...
While the factory spray in bedliner is a great choice, if you have the money to do it after you take delivery, most people on the forums say a proper line-x/spray in liner is a better quality product overall.
Thank you for posting this @Hot Runr Guy !
Very disappointed to see no changes/updates from the "reveal" specs (moonroof, ventilated seats, paint color options, grab handles, etc.). Looks like I will stick with my Maverick when it shows up next month.
I would bet B&P won't be live until at least the day or hours after the order guide is released to dealers; and considering the order guide isn't here or on Blue Oval Forums yet means we are still a day away on the low end in all likelihood.
Regular lineup currently shows: grey, grey, grey, silver, white, black, red, and blue. Colors clearly aren't a priority for Ford. 😞
I have ZERO intention on ever buying a Toyota. But Toyota will overshadow Ford's reveal by a mile the moment they mention their hybrid and people see the...
