Well folks, Iām sad to say I caved today and cancelled my Raptor order.
The daily started creating problems faster than I can fix them so Iām in need of a vehicle today rather than tomorrow.
Ended up grabbing another car Iāve wanted for a while, and sheās just as much a looker.
Hopefully...
I thought the Raptor actually looked kinda short because of the proportions. Obviously itās taller and wider but because itās squared out more, it gives a sort of optical illusion.
I'm all for people getting paid a living wage, but this does annoy me now that I see the numbers in front of me. 6 years in aerospace engineering with half a dozen valuable certs under my belt and I'm barely ahead of this..
This just means the real trades will start charging more... looks like...
Just to confirm, if you sign on the dotted line for a 2024 but get pushed to 2025, you're paying 2024 MSRP right?
There's a lot of people buying a Raptor for the sake of a Raptor and aren't pressed to have a new car so the waiting game isn't as critical.
YES. The interior build quality was shocking for the pricepoint. That thin armrest support is going to pop off after 3 years and everything was squeaky. I'm all for patriotism, but the interior was like sitting in a 4th of July factory. Almost as headache inducing as the red interior of Alfas.
You probably wouldn't even want one of those. Union was probably just waiting for the strike and not putting much effort into them, and leadership probably didn't put much into training since they knew it was coming too.
I'm so close to asking my dealer to 99 my order until I start seeing them...
Coming from not big, but definitely heavy; the seats are not aggressively bolstered, and soft to a fault. They have the same support as the XL/T with some leatherette. If youāve sat in a new Bronco, they feel similar but with slightly more side support.
The steering wheel is a manual latch lock so it doesnāt move with the memory setting but it does have great range of movement and the telescoping portion has sizeable movement to suit apes and T-Rexās alike.
It was noticeably lower, and it was plastic. Solid, well made, but plastic nonetheless. Ford is downgrading the front end of many vehicles outside of the specialized vehicles.
They sat just as nicely as the Raptor. The bolstering was 1:1 aside from the sheen of the leather and āalcantaraā. That...
An additional reference:
the Denaliās steering wheel was mockingly small. Itās like it was meant to tell you that you couldnāt afford the āRado or āBurban.<which underscored how lacking the Escalade was compared to the Navigator.
but the peanut butter stitching was much nicer on the eyes...
Had the opportunity to hop on an ATL-DTW flight this morning for the sole reason of seeing where Iām putting a large chunk of my future dollars.
It is 110% worth the money. As someone thatās short enough to not want to reach for climate controls in the F150, the proportions of the Ranger were...
