Here is a great discussion of the update and tunes

I've got another recent thread on this, and I'll attach the 2 findings I came up with, as well as one more that another owner was told. My dealers body guy, who ran his own shop for a few decades, used a comparison chart and came up with the UX. He had some on hand and have me a few ounces in...
Appreciate your response. Talking to my dealers body and paint guy (actually ran an independent shop for a few decades) other options in play are as attached. He gave me some ux from a can, so I'll paint a small piece of plastic and post up the results. Otherwise I'll give a try with the js...
Lots of good info here, and I'm an old engineer, so I love Lion's attention to detail. RE running lower octane. Ugh...a couple of weekends ago I ended up having to use a crap station that only had 2 versions of regular, 88 and 87. I'm assuming that the 88 was a non ethanol. I only put as...
I believe that this update revises what the engine recognizes as a normal IAT range, which will control spark advance and fuel mix. So not updating this info could potentially result in engine damage if you push the engine super hard and your IAT2s go super high in a hot climate. Not gonna be...
Talked to both my service mgr and sr master tech who's done all my work (incl 800 hp shelby mustang) and they suggest not installing it for now unless you don't have a tune. In fact, my mechanic (also an actual friend) said to turn off all ota updates of any kind, and install on a case by case...
Well, turned off my auto software update last night, and twice today my screen asked my permission to download new software. This is new, at least for me, for an ota update. Maybe if I say it's ok, then feel they can deny responsibility if it screws up the tune, etc 😎
Does anyone happen to know the paint code for the thin silver strip running underneath the front bumper of the RR? I need to do some touch-up. Fwiw I'm not talking about the front skid plate that extends up a bit. Thanks
My weathertech still protectors are holding up fine after after almost 2 years. Saved me from having to fix some damage, and now I don't have to worry about rocks on my shoe bottoms or damage from trying to close the door when a walking stick is sticking out...yep, I covered up a 600 dent.
My 2024 shows an incomplete ota download status for this IAT software update. I also have the Ford tune. I imagine the incomplete status is related to the tune. Guess another question for the Ford service manager
That looks great. I'll have to stop there on my way to visit son and family in Denver area. It looks similar to Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park and Monument Rocks in West Kansas. I'll post up some pics in a bit. Access is on dirt roads that are ok when dry. Back when I had my 19 ranger...
I just use a 2 level led light from Menards. Works fine, and is water resistant (about $10). Although it has 2 magnets for attaching, they are not real strong and don't attach well to the bed with a sprayed liner. So I attached a couple of much stronger magnets that I got for a prior project...
You want to use adhesion promoter with the 3m tape on many surfaces. The one use packages are fairly pricey (considering how little material is on the gauze pad) and oftentimes is pretty much dried out since the promoter solution is extremely volitile. I just went on Amazon and bought a small...
I like mine. Very easy install, and well made. I ran a bead of clear sealant around both the lower shim piece and the upper plate. Looks great, adds strength, and no longer allows water thru the oem covers.
