Just going to start this thread to monitor and for anyone else who's checking this to chime in.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to run used oil analysis on my first few changes just to see what happens with the oil and how it's holding up. What I have found, is very high fuel dilution in the oil...
Just as an extra point of reference, I also did this but at 600 miles. Ended up with:
60 ppm silicon
31 ppm copper
4.7% fuel dilution
That fuel though - when I changed oil, the night before I was showing the truck off and a friend didn't close the door all the way. Almost didn't start in the...
I'm rushing to get some miles on before I tow, I'm not going to risk the warranty.
The vehicle knows if it is connected to a trailer.
We know the the vehicle talks to Ford - probably just about constantly.
Ford will know if you towed before 1,000 miles. I don't think this is a real big...
I've seen this pretty regularly, specifically from 4th down to 3rd. Starting to wonder if this is normal.
It also rumbles going from drive, into park? I've taken to popping it out of drive and into neutral, waiting a bit, then putting it into park. Most of the rumble/shudder seems to happen...
I'll add I also did a quick break in oil change on mine.
Oil filter dump ramp did work cleanly, but, good luck figuring out where it's going to go until after you experience it. Try setting up the catch pan about a foot or a little more, behind the wheel.
I was able to get the filter by hand...
Sometimes I just love the internet. Thanks much, this is very helpful. I haven't started dabbling with Forscan yet but I'm adding this to the list to look into when I get there.
Driving to work this morning, I discovered the truck was turning the A/C on, on it's own. What I wanted was pure external air vent, no heat, no AC. I found this absolutely infuriating to the point that if I knew it did this ahead of time this would be serious points against buying this truck. I...
I just jumped on this with one we found locally, went from chatting Ford last night only to get a "still no VIN" to having a very similar Ranger in my driveway, in 24 hours. Forget this stupid ordering system and look around if you can.
Had enough of waiting and not being scheduled. My wife spotted a listing - Someone's order was walked away from after delivery, and was close enough to what I ordered. Literally walked half a block from where I worked to a different (smaller) dealership, in and out of the dealership in 38...
Congrats! Love seeing these positive first impressions.
For the mirror without USB, I'm hoping something like this works with the Ranger -
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088P4VFQ7/?coliid=I35ORHVSA8H2VH&colid=3CTY061CSAE33&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Yup, they have all that and deposit. First time I ordered I also got a confirmation same day, but that was back last September. It's this new order that I just placed that doesn't seem to exist yet.
Can anyone confirm - A new order goes into the unscheduled order bank pile. From there a dealer then uses an allocation to build what Ford says could potentially be built this scheduling period?
Or is it that they use an allocation, to get it into the unscheduled order bank pile in the first...
You are bang-on exactly on the same points as why I gave up my XLT and re-ordered as a Larait. Down to wishing it had options for 17" wheels and the cloth seats.
I've been borrowing an old Carolla while waiting for this to deliver and stupid as it is, going back to fishing my keys out of my...
Not arguing against the rear seat vents. I do really like having powered rear glass though as I tend to end up using that window as the wind resonance buffer when I have the driver window open. At least from past full size experience - seems to keep things calmer in the cab, than another side...
I have done the stupidest thing imaginable and swapped my order from XLT to Lariat. Goodbye 4/8 build date, hello back of the line. At least things look to be moving now, mostly.
In the mean time nothing better to do!
That now has "scheduled date" in column D and "Scheduled week" in O. Is one of these meant as "the date they first scheduled something" and the other "when it's planned for building"?
Do we know how many members there are of this forum, with a 2024 Ranger order? That'd be an important piece of the puzzle to evaluate. We know about 5000 trucks have been built, maybe ~8000 by the end of the month. And yet there were only 30 or so entries on the option/order date / schedule date...
