This was via the Avants car club which occasionally hires out that side of the facility, has volunteers and runs this event. I haven't seen a way to get DirtFish to allow you to run it alone.
It's amazing to see spouses who are sometimes straight laced and say "nah there is no way I'd like being in a car offroad or taking a jump in a car" actually change their tune when they've done it!
The first place I tried the autoparking on the truck was at a busy Costco lot. Not my best decision, but it worked (and parked a little closer on one side than I liked) 😅
The best part of doing donuts in the field was that the garage smelled like a campfire until I cleaned out tons of mud and wood chips from the underside. Like several garbage cans full of it thanks to the extra armor underneath haha.
Yessir, the mall-crawl-special.
The funny thing is that a mall-crawl Ranger Raptor (it was spotless and definitely never saw a tough trail) that I saw in the town of Snoqualmie (but with a lot of mods, in cactus gray and a chase rack and lights) is what inspired me to finally take the idea off...
Haha, fair enough. I use my cars well but I also maintain them well before and after. It doesn't hurt the truck. In some cases, better a ride that has seen some use and not broken.
That being said, I think you can get great discounts on a new RR over what people seem to want for a used one.
Thanks for the rock auto pointer. I guess my problem was that I was trying to replace the filter on a Saturday evening and no non-dealer location had anything for the ranger. Dealers were of course closed till Monday.
Amen. There is some truth to all the splashed around water and vapor (and that's only a worry for the motor) getting you closer to hydrolock. But I would go into an event like this with a clean filter and replace it right afterwards.
The closest I've actually come to hydrolocking the engine on...
This one only cost me just under a hundred bucks cos I did the local car club Avants' offroad day that was hosted there. Individually done, it's very expensive.
Haha, this one is frequently covered in mud and dirt. It has also seen the Oregon dunes a few weeks before this outing.
But I did cover this Cactus Gray (I'm glad I got it while it was available) truck with STEK matte all over to give it both a different look as well as protect it while out on...
Yep, this was a couple weeks before the atmospheric river hit.
And yes, this was not the most ideal amount of water on the track, but it's a Raptor and I will change fluids earlier than I usually would after such adventures.... I'm not saving it unused and only gently crawled (might as well...
From a very fun day late last month at Dirt Fish Rally School in Snoqualmie, WA. A lot of water on the track that day, plenty of mud and it was quite the rollercoaster ride around this flooded track with the Ranger Raptor. Mine has seen harder trails around Moab but letting it loose on this...
There was no link or picture here if you posted one. @Kazumi
Separately, I don't know why people keep pushing comma 3x. I mentioned above that I already tried comma 3x.
At this point, I'm only asking Kazumi if he or she can mention the exact device (if it's not Comma) that can disable the...
Yeah this was addressed a long long time ago. However, the hole on one of the two on mine was misaligned enough that I ended up having to break one pin.
