friend was asking me this morning ,if for some reason you was to accidently over fill the engine with oil,can he use the siphon contraption that looks like a syringe with a little tube? will the tube go all the way into the oil pan through the dipstick tube?

What size of tube would he need?
What ever fits I guess? Just buy an assortment of flexible tubes from the hardware store? Or measure the size of the dipstick for a rough idea?? It's not rocket science - just slowly feed a tube in until it stops, pull some oil out, rinse and repeat until optimum oil level is achieved

And I don't know much about much. But I assume would want to take off the filler cap "add oil here" where you added the oil. That way sucking from dipstick won't create a vacuum inside engine.

I've heard of bad shops sucking out oil rather than use drain plug. I don't know how much vacuum would need to put on dipstick to raise the oil ~2 feet. Might not even need to insert tube.

Oil extraction is normal on a lot of Euro designed engines. Nothing wrong with it if done right. There won't be a vacuum in the engine when extracting oil as the tube going down the dipstick port doesn't create an airtight seal. I wouldn't be sticking any tubes in to the oil fill port, the dipstick port is designed to have a clear run to the bottom of the oil sump without hitting any parts/components (IE: the dipstick safely sits there, so no risk in putting a soft flexible tube down there too)

But to be safe he should take off the oil fill cap, right? When siphoning the oil?
