2024 Ranger FX4 Trans skip shift

I have less than 500 mile on my New Truck and it skip shift from 1st to third and does it more when cold. I drive it easy when it happens but under heavier acceleration, it doesn’t do it that I’ve noticed. I’ve read a lot on here and online get some trans being replaced and some owners being told it’s normal. I’ve read the truck needs to learn your driving habits and it will correct its self. Wish I knew the truth , but I’m worried I’ve invested in a Ford truck for the first time and it’s has serious issues.

Mine does it all the time unless there is a substantial load.

It's a normal thing. If you want to see it act different try changing modes. It will act differently in ECO, Normal and Sport and skip a gear if it doesn't think it needs to be there. Think of truckers with their 18 or 36 speed manual transmissions. If they don't need to spend half a second in 3rd they skip right to 4th.
