Anyone know if it’s possible to program this feature in? Several of my past vehicles would auto lock as I walked away from them. The ranger not doing it is really throwing me off.
Thanks

Ive been working on figuring this out in Forscan. Trying to find a way to trigger an unlock when you walk up to the truck as well.

I would imagine this would require some key proximity sensor that’s likely not in the car if it doesn’t do this in its factory configuration. Given the convenience of it, I’d imagine if the car had the capability, it would do it from the factory. I don’t know for certain, but that’s my gut.

it certainly has the proximity sensor. The truck knows when you are walking up
To it and knows the key is in your pocket when you grab the door handle

It knows when you’re grabbing the handle, but that’s different as there is a physical input with the vehicle which then triggers the sensor to look for key. That may not be the same sensor type as one that knows if you’re coming / going automatically…

Thumb to the indentation on the outside of the door handle when closing the door.
Sometimes we gotta learn some new tricks.

It does make clicky noises when you approach before you grab the handle so there's some form of proximity sensing going on. What I love about my 2011 V, is keeping key in pocket and the doors unlocking when I grab the handle, and locking when I walk away. 13 years later and you'd think that would be pretty standard by now.
