automatic electric tailgate

Hi everyone, I'm writing from Italy and I'm finding a lot of interest in viewing this forum.


At the moment I own an RR Evoque but at the end of November, the new Raptor with diesel engine will finally arrive.


I want to ask you if there is a modification to install the position memories for the front electric seats and if there is a modification to install the automatic electric tailgate (like the one on the F-150)

I’m unfamiliar with the European spec Rangers but in the US, memory seats are an option in the top trim levels. I suggest going on the ford website to look at the features list for each trim.

Power tailgate is not available on any Ranger and it would require extensive engineering and parts to add it.

It would be unclear whether, given that you tell me they are available in the USA, they can be installed...
For the electric tailgate I understand that the actuators and other components need to be installed... I was hoping that some Chinese would put them on sale on Aliexpress but I haven't seen anything yet. For other car brands yes but for Ranger no...

It might be possible to get parts in from another country to add the memory seats. You’d probably need at the very least a control panel and probably some Forscan programming but there may be more.

For the electric tailgate, someone would have to design that system from scratch and I don’t know if I’d trust something from AliExpress to operate my tailgate from a safety and reliability perspective. The NA model has a damper that allows one handed opening and closing. Other countries don’t have this but there are third party tailgate dampers available. Not quite remote operation but the damper balances the tailgate weight and makes it super easy to operate one handed.

I know the tailgate damper and have already purchased it...but I wanted to try the power tailgate system. I'm used too well with my Evoque )

RR.Evoque just so many problems. I have 10 Ford vans and no problems though!

I might try taking the tailgate popper out of an f150 and mill or 3d print some brackets to make it work on the Ranger. Since it’s all Canbus it should be doable in Forscan. I won’t personally go for Chinese, an oem retrofit would work better. We were able to put the digital dash from a 18 mustang in our 15 mustang without much difficulties, and are doing a roadstershop spec chassis in one of our 69 Mustang fastbacks, with a gt500 supercharged Coyote an the full 2015 dash and console swap. If that works out, then the tailgate popper should be doable.

Why? It's very comfortable!

It's a light tailgate. I definitely wouldn't complain about having a powered up/down gate, but I don't feel it's that impactful for this size truck.
