Automatic Return To Park

Thought i was going nuts. My regular commute is several kilometers of gravel mountain road. I usually only put my seat belt on when I get to pavement. When I drive over wildlife tracks crossing the road. I usually open the door and lean out to see what they are Elk, Cougar, Deer etc. Everytime I go to proceed I Rev it up in Park. Just realized it has Automatic return to Park.

Safety feature that you can't disable because of the "Star Trek" guy that got run over and killed because he forgot to put it in "park" when he got out.
