Back in high school I had a 340 Duster, ran her to 141, had more in the tank very smooth till I let off the gas, thought it was going to com apart. No more.

I had my Discovery II to 120MPH, where I encountered an electronic limiter, which later I had disabled. It made it to 124 after that; the most pointless limiter of all time. 🤣

She'd out-corner my Golf GTI and even beat the Raptor off the line with no contest, though the Raptor would leave her in the dust after that, obviously. That was the most strangely planted vehicle I've ever owned by the time I was done with it. The one thing it couldn't do was hit 125.

Top cruising speed was 90MPH, and it ran out of steam at around 105. It look quite some time to make it up to 120 when I did it, and it was a dramatic experience.

Zero attention had been paid to aerodynamics and, at that relatively lofty speed, it was very difficult to prevent the air from unsettling it. I never took it past 98 after that, though only a few considerations would have been needed to keep it steady.

The tires wouldn't last very long at those speeds, anyway.
