How rude of them!!!

I have lots of national forest, BLM and state land around. There’s a wide array of terrain and difficulty levels to choose from here in NW New Mexico. There’s truck is only 2 months old, so I’m not ready to scratch the paint ip on narrow roads yet, but I don’t mind a good hill climb.
I know, I like that area. When I visit NM I like to go to Springerville then up to 40 through El Malpais Monument. Have you ever been East of Las Vegas, NM? I go to Trementina which is about 50 miles east of LV, below the mesas on the Canadian River. There are hundreds of miles of dirt roads and historic ruins. We have our family reunion there every year as we have roots in Trementina and all along the Gallinas River going back to the 1800's. Our association purchased an old WPA schoolhouse where we all camp and hold the 3 day reunion. The original town site is now on private property and only accessible by special permission. I got to see it last year and there are over 50 flagstone structures still standing.

Mostly on the beach and some moderate trails with my 23 Maverick Tremor and m 25 Ranger FX-4. The beach is the trickiest. Had to drive through a foot of water with my friends 21 Ranger to get out when the tide sneaked up on us while fishing on the bay side.

El malpais is only a few miles from my home, so I frequent that area pretty regularly. My wife was from Ft Sumner and had family in the little town of House, which is between Clines Corners and Clovis. I’ve been on many of the paved roads on the eastern part of the state, not so much on the dirt backroads in that area.

you need to post some pics of your e28 and the ranger. i bet that m kit looks awesome. i had a european 90 318 a guy bought while in the military and brought to texas. he also ordered it with an mtec2 kit on it so as soon as i saw it for sale, i immediately messaged and told them i would be there in 3 hours to get it. they even lowered the price because i drove so far to pick it up and they were glad someone who loved bmws got it since they got it brand spanking new. this was back in 2010 or so

i had an 86 or 87 528e at one time but it was the auto. it was a little heavy to have the 2.7 and auto and be fun to drive but that thing got great gas mileage and had tons of room.

i mistakenly passed on an e28 535is with 5 speed. i didn't know that they were called mustang killers back in their day. the people said the next person to see it bought it. i never found another one.

i did have a 79 euro 635csi with a built balanced and blueprinted m30 3.5 in it that was amazing. i got it from the original owner's neice. found it sitting in a farm field but it started up as soon as i put a new battery in it. that was a powerful car.

other wise, i have had about 15 e30s, ha ha ha. i love those cars. my oldest son just took our most recent acquisition back to his house in omaha so he could work on making it a daily. its an 85 318i 5 speed. its a two door base model but is perfect for a weekend cruiser

that website used my car pics for their e30 ads. those were my autocross cars, the red and green one in the back ground. just hover over the ad and the pic shows up

I found ONE picture of my old car in digital form...

I bought it in 2001 with 162k miles, I sold it 3 years ago with 297K miles. Still ran great but had some rust issues on front engine support and on the rear axle carrier mounts, and had a leak on the AC lines (still running R-12!)...hard and expen$ive to get parts for these...I got the front and rear M5 bumpers from a junkyard in Germany. Miss that car.

Hard to get old e28's and e30's up here in New England without them needing tons of body rust repair; the rubber pieces too like the guibos and all the bushings (the rear axle carrier bushings are a PITA!)

i still find e30s for less than 1k occasionally. the old days of buying a running 150 dollar e30, e21, e28, or e24 are gone though. last year we gave 1k for the one my son took with him to omaha and i also actually got a twin 84 318 to that one for free because the body was rusty. the engine and trans were perfect though

After some training at the range, shenanigans ensued. Took a second "lap" to see my handiwork. Gotta remember to have someone stay after with me next time and get some video from outside.

You can definitely see the different focus between the RR and the BRaptor in ride height and the 33 vs. 37's, but honestly, sitting next to the Ranger, the 37's on the BRaptor's don't look that much bigger.

Different vehicles, different focus obviously, but I do think the RR is by far the more versatile and better on road and on higher speed off-road terrain, especially with the lower CG, lower weight and Watts link.

It's the red headed stepchild of the Raptor family . Plus, the 5,510lbs of towing capacity is more palatable trade-off than the 4,500 lbs of the BRaptor.

Below Clear Lake in Colorado. Parked here for a hike and when I returned I had to drop the skid plate to get a marmot out from the engine bay, he was determined to stay in there.

We need a picture of the marmot ford mechanic that was “troubleshooting” your motor compartment. 🤣
