Looking for anyone's experience and or suggestions.

I am looking for the best performing/looking bug deflector options currently available. My top current pick is the Aeroskin II from the Ford website.

I am also considering a full PPF wrap for the hood. I have heard gar too many horror stories with new Ford vehicles and paint chips. I am told that automotive paint nowadays is water based and very thin/fragile. (Having just upgraded from a 2012)

Does anyone have experience with PPF?

I got LLumar Valor PPF - full wrap on vehicle, plus clear door edge protection (thicker on door edges). They did do some minor paint correction because there were some contaminants from sitting in Michigan and from transport (or they wanted to add labor for some anyway?).
There are also options to just get it on front hood and front part of fenders, plus door handle areas and rocker panels. I saw a car with the partial PPF and could only see evidence of the transitions in some light conditions.

I then had them do a 4+ coat ceramic pro treatment over the PPF and 1 coat over exterior plastic - wheels removed for ceramic treatment of the rims, plus a coat of rain repellant for the windshield.
Some might think overkill, but I'm glad I did it.

The vendor did all the work in a climate-controlled paint-booth type environment to reduce chance of contaminants/dust and they had banks of Infrared to help with the curing process after each step.

They had my truck for almost 7 days (initially estimated for 3).

I suggest checking reviews of the outfit that does the work, because I've heard results can vary.

Ended up getting full ceramic coating because truck is black and planning keeping ten years and was on the fence about PPF due to cost but on day three of owning it I took a good stone chip to my hood and said “F it” if I’m spending this type of money I want my truck to look good long term. Originally was just going to get full front done but added rear quarter panels at last minute which I’m very happy about. In my recent drive those areas had quite a bit of debris on them and you’re always leaning against that part of the truck when using bedstep so this should help prevent scratches from clothing or other things. 100% recommend if you can swing it and if you plan on keeping truck long term. Below is my price quote dor a very reputable shop in New Jersey for reference. Not cheap but truck looks great and the peace of mind is worth it to me
