I don't think in reality you are going to sell enough to the point where you would make a considerable profit. The majority of the choices require a lot of wiring that only hardcore owners and off-roaders would be willing to do.

Fair point, and I appreciate the feedback!

Just to clarify, the idea isn't to sell electronics or complete wiring setups. The plan is to offer a few different precision-fit inserts for the factory cubby, including a clean blank version, a storage option, and versions with mounting provisions for things like the Kicker bass knob.

Customers would supply and install their own electronics if they wanted that option. The blank and storage versions wouldn't require any wiring at all.

I'm keeping development costs low and testing interest before committing to anything on a larger scale. Not expecting to get rich off these, just hoping to offer something useful, well-made, and reasonably priced for fellow owners.

Appreciate the honest input!

Quick update for everyone following along!

I've got everything I need to move forward with development now, including the 3D scan data, printer, and measuring equipment.

Unfortunately, I've been under the weather the past few days, and life has been pretty busy, so I haven't had a chance to get stuck into the measurements and prototype testing just yet.

The project is still very much moving forward! The plan is to get the fitment right first, then work through the different options, including the blank insert, Kicker bass knob mount, and flip-down storage version.

Appreciate everyone's patience and interest. I'll share some actual progress and prototype photos as soon as I have something worth showing! 👍

I would be in for $20-$40 I would now be in for a blank with a slot in a corner that can fit the Cobb AP wire through and the rest of the space to put the AP sticky to so I cab use it on the left side.

$20 for a blank one. Just going to drill it out so I can attach a tackform ball to it for another mount point
