Interested to hear if the replacement is any different. I just installed an X4TS on my vehicle this morning. I was also only able to get the one bolt in the front. If I install both bolts I’m unable to get the back to line up properly with the tailgate.I did a lot of research before landing on this solution and I would say I am somewhere between “almost satisfied” and “slightly disappointed”.
I installed mine this week and had to do the same thing. I contacted Bak customer service and haven’t gotten a reply back yet. It’s clear the cover is an inch to short.

Congratulations on your new truck. The 2024 Lariat is a good choice and Ford did a great job with it. The ride and screen are not hard to get along with.

For bed covers, folding hard covers or roll-up soft covers are employed by most Ford users. Folding hard covers are convenient to employ and allow excellent access to the bed. Roll-up covers are lightweight and simple to shove out of the way when you need the entire bed. They both fit well on Ford trucks and with regular care last a lifetime.

I just fitted a SyneticUSA AR pro retractable cover on my 2025 Lariat. Great cover

Just bought a Realtruck BAK flip MX4 for my brand new 2025 XLT. Leaks like a screen door. Took it back to the distributor and they claimed they fixed it in 10 minutes via a rail adjustment. Got it home and still leaks. Distributor stated BAKFLIP maker only claims it to be "water resistant". I found no such claim on the website, but I did find the photo of water gushing over the top of the cover and BAKFLIP claiming their new Gen3 is even more water tight than the GEN2 model. The distributor refuses to do anything more and refuses a refund though they installed it and its only 2 weeks old. Claims the bed is the problem. Currently working with RealTruck home office to get a warranty resolved on it and get some money back. Just sent them the receipt copies and about 20 photos of the failures. Buyer beware IMHO. Sorry but I don't want to see another get taken in. This bedcover may work well for other makes of trucks but I am not at all impressed. I have had 2 other rangers with cheapo tonneau covers as well as a 99 F150 and none ofthem have leaked. Good luck. I am told currently to either try the Work Sport AL4 or a Leer 700 for best sealing options on this 2025 bed design. We shall see.

Congratulations on your 2024 Lariat. I also own a 2024 Chassis Cab F-450 Lariat, and I really like it.
Here's a list of some bed cover ideas that might help you decide on what fits best for your truck:

Ford F-450 hard folding tonneau or bed cover. It gives strong cover and full-bed access.
Ford F-450 hard folding four-panel tonneau: it folds in more sections for easier use
Ford F-450 Advantage hard folding cover for an 8-foot bed. Good if you have the long bed.
BAKFlip MX4 tonneau cover; it opens up with a simple folding motion and looks clean.
Ford F-450 Embark matte black bed cover. Fits perfectly, locks up well.
