I think you will find the production leather will be the same quality. Not very many auto manufacturers use high quality leather for the seats. They're better than the early 2000's, but nowhere near the quality of the '06-'07 King Ranch leather found in the Super Duty.

There isn’t a separate Ebony leather thread since majority of the pictures online of the Lariat trim are Ebony leather.

It looks great! I hope they build more with this color. I looked for used GMC Canyons with the tan/beige interior on Autotrader and out of hundreds of trucks only 2 had tan/beige interior. I dislike black interior both in the hot summer and in the darkness of winter where a black jacket on the back seat will disappear into a black hole.

When I sold cars for Dodge, they used to have black on every interior. People complained. They then practically got rid of black across the board and went strictly to gray/beige or brown/beige. People complained that they couldn't get black. Now, you can get black. But now...everyone wants tan. People are a fickle animal. I'm glad I don't sell cars anymore.

If it is like other leather seats in vehicles I've been around the wrinkles go away after a short time.
