Lazy Maine DOT (Beware)

The state paid a company to repaint the lines here in my area of Maine. A work truck, not a regular person pulled out for the breakdown lane leaving a 20 foot smooth white arch of paint toward the center line. This caused my trucks lane keeper to swear towards and cross the center line if the wheel was left unguarded.
I talked to the DOT for that sector, the Dept. of Safety, the State DOT and workers on that road starting a project for the state. Nothing was done in the name of safety to correct this problem. These lazy people just made false promises and resumed stuffing their faces and being lazy at work on tax payers dime…lol

The fix:
1 can of tar pruning spray
cat litter
safety cone.

This could have been a real unsafe issue with other cars, if a driver where to be distracted not guarding the wheel.

This is our America if lazy people don’t care just take charge!

was the centerline dashed white, solid white, double yellow? Sounds like it has right hand bias and prefers to follow the solid white line on passenger side. But scary if it drove you over the double yellow into oncoming traffic!! dang!!!

does anyone know if lane keep assist has a hierarchy of importance? Ex: double yellow more important than white.

Having watched them in action for more than 20 years, the Maine DOT strikes me as a pretty lame organization. All of their projects take forever. Their oversight of vendors is terrible, per your example. They also don't do a very good job of communicating with the public. By way of example, a year ago Maine DOT said they were about to resurface the bridge that connects the island I live on to the mainland. We're still waiting.

In fairness, there doesn't seem to be enough qualified roadwork vendors and equipment in Maine. I often see equipment and worker's personal vehicles with out-of-state license plates.

Maine Government is a true example of taxation and mismanagement of funds never reflecting the true needs of the people.
