I recently purchased this Logan tonneau cover for my new 2026 Lariat:

Installation was straightforward for the most part. During installation I did notice that the one negative review on the Amazon thread ended up being exactly the problem I experienced with it.
I'm wondering if anyone else has installed this tonneau cover and how I might better deal with the alignment issue that it has - see photos from the negative review on Amazon:
When you look at the photos, note the alignment of the hold-down brackets. The problem comes about because the truck's plastic bed rail tops are snapped on to the top of the bed sides, and the plastic protrudes down alongside the actual bed side sheet metal; so the brackets have to be carefully fitted to capture both the sheet metal AND the plastic bed rail cap material - which makes it much harder to get them into place. In the above photos you can see how the brackets can be mistakenly clamped to ONLY the plastic, which causes it to warp and is NOT fully secure. Couple this issue with the fact that proper alignment of the tonneau cover puts the brackets in the same position as the bed rail cap screws, and it's therefore impossible for the brackets to properly interface with the bed rail when it is positioned properly for bed coverage.
The bracket at the end of the yellow strap is also not as secure as I'd like - although it can be opened up enough to capture both the sheet metal and the plastic, it's not holding as securely as I'd like and I am a little concerned about it giving way at speed.
The way I have it installed now, the tonneau cover protrudes a little too far to the back, meaning that the back corners are just *slightly* sticking out beyond the back ends of the rails. There are also small gaps front and back, but I think if I cinch it down a bit tighter it will help. There was also a weatherstrip included, which I may be able to use at the front of the bed; but strangely, there was NOTHING in the instruction guide about the weather strip installation - it was just included in the box with no explanation.
The tailgate closes normally, but the gaps still have me a little concerned.
It's on fairly tight now, and I took a trip to downtown Phoenix last night from Mesa, and back again, using the freeway, with no problems - the tonneau cover stayed in place and seems to be holding well.
I'm not unhappy with the quality of the tonneau cover, it's sturdy and well-made; but I am concerned about brackets failing if they aren't properly aligned.
Does anyone have experience with these, and suggestions for better installation, or adaptation that might improve the way the brackets work?
