I have a Ranger with Bak X4S tonneau without T slots. Looking for a low bed rack that has the following features:
- Minimal height while clearing the rollup tonneau
- Allows for the uprights/rails to be positioned where I need them (not fixed)
From my research it looks like the Adarac M Series or BillieBars will both achieve this. Considered the AAL low rack, but the bar positions are fixed, which isn't ideal for me. I suppose I could buy the Bak T-slot rails and open up a couple other options, but I'd rather save the expense unless there is another superior option I should consider.
Has anyone run an X4S tonneau with either the Billie or Adarac systems, and can they provide any insights? Specific to the Adarac - did you have to remove the Tonneau for install, or can I just bolt it into the stake pockets with the tonneau on there (saves me some headache, Adarac customer support was ambiguous around this).
Billie requires the tonneau to come off for install (not the end of the world), but I like that the bars are 8" height vs 12" on the Adarac. Based on where I'm planning to run the bars I THINK I can still squeeze the rollup tonneau under that 8" height.
Either of these will satisfy my load requirements, which aren't huge, so thats not a factor.
What would you choose?
