Has anyone here tried this product? The water in my town seems to leave a LOT of staining on my truck when I wash it. I was hoping to find someone with personal experience with this or similar products to ask if it does well at dissolving / removing water stains / residue. Any recommendations are welcome. Thank you.

No idea about that product….. maybe post a link? This works fine and I trust Griot’s Garage products, though they are slightly more expensive than other brands.

Griot's Garage Water Spot Remover for Car Detailing, Works on Paint, Chrome, Plastic Trim, Glass, and More, Professional-Grade, 10880, 22oz

Be aware that ANY hard water spot dissolver is a mild acid, and it will take off regular waxes (ceramic coatings are OK) so you can’t use them routinely. They are for emergency use, so to speak. Unless you want to re-wax your truck every time you wash it……

My city water is very clean, but fairly hard and it leaves spots like crazy-especially from irrigation sprinklers. I installed a whole house water softener and piped an extra 3/4” pex line to a hose spigot at my driveway, I use that to wash vehicles. Any commercial car wash should have softened water, if it doesn’t - find another.

Even softened water can leave spots if you don’t completely dry the vehicle using high quality microfiber towels!!! If you want a mirror shine, you have to keep working at it! What color is your truck? Dark colors are really hard to keep up. That is why there are so many white, silver and beige vehicles.

You might check out portable softeners designed just for car washing. I don’t have any direct experience with those. FYI my excellent Rheem 42,000 grain WiFi softener at Home Depot is $580. But retrofitting an entire home for soft water everywhere is crazy expensive, I chose that option when my house was built.

I have used this product on my Raptor and all i can say is its unbelievable. Showroom
Shine for sure. Shows less dirt and may times looks super clean even after driving in the rain. It seems to work everything (plastic, glass, vinyl, metal). I really had my doubts about their claim. But it’s true. I haven’t even hardly used that much either. Even the painted finish feels smoother now.
