Last week I noticed the drive mode knob in my Lariat was looking especially cheap and ugly. Found some pics online and it appears the factory failed to install the bezel (see pic). My dealer jumped right on the problem and I’m dropping the truck off tomorrow to get the controller replaced. Meanwhile, my AC started blowing warm air last Friday. Temps are in the 90’s right now in Mississippi and the cabin never cools down during my 24 minute commute to/from work. Dealer is checking that out too. Anyone else having these problems???

Yes!

See my thread here.

I'm taking it in Friday and I'm not a happy camper. This is trip #4 and it's starting to get hot!

Local dealer replaced the drive mode controller today and charged the AC system. No sign of leaks. Both issues probably from no process controls in production. Hope the AC thing is not going to be a recurring problem like @jrRaptor has.

If your AC worked before and then it didn't and they had to add refrigerant, then logically the refrigerant escaped somehow. Hopefully they actually used a good method to search for leaks, I'd think they would have done that but leaks can pop up in in not easy to see/access places. I hope you don't have to go back but you likely will. If you have a UV light, I'd look under the hood yourself for dye. You can pick up a really cheap one that will work just fine, they come in useful for stuff like this.

Good luck!

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye on it. You’ve been through a lot with your AC. Hope I’m not on the same path!

Recharging the ac worked for about a month. This week, it’s blowing coolish air out of the left two vents and warm air out of the right two vents. I’m at 2,000 miles now and planning my second trip to the dealer. Gotta be some type of control system glitch. It’s very inconvenient.
