I don't see many examples of one-inch lifts on the Ranger. Not really a lift guy, so I wanted an in-between that preserved some rake while making the truck look better. Dealer wanted ~$700 + $100 alignment (gonna let them do that) to install, so I just did it, took about 4.5 hrs which was the dealer's stated hours on their quote. Figure they were overcharging some since I did it on the ground with basic tools versus what they would have.

I used the technique where I disconnected the tie rod, sway bar link, and upper control arm from the knuckle to remove the strut assembly. I didn't need to disconnect the CV axles. Used bungees and extra care to remove strut to avoid accidentally dislodging the CVs.

I had a 1.5 inch leveling kit installed a couple of weeks ago and it cost me about $800 with alignment after. Looks great and worth it in my opinion. I would rather have a pro do it than try it myself but that's me. the alignment was an important factor in my having it done for me.

I definitely understand wanting a shop to do the work.

Overall, it was not a complicated job, just six total nuts to remove and reinstall on each side. I have had mixed results with shop work since the mechanics are all incentivized to do things as fast as possible due to a flat rate of pay.

I've got an alignment scheduled in a couple of days, so no worries there.

Thanks to @GiJoesGT for the $80 spacers. Total cost will be $180 with the alignment.

It looks great. I don’t like the rake the rangers come with. It’s too much. I’m getting my lift installed on Tuesday. $579 with alignment. It’s a small local tire shop that does all the lift for the local dealers. I went to high school with the owner, so he always gives me a fair deal. I’ll be putting on 275/70/r18 tires as well. Can’t wait!

Go get an alignment if you haven’t already.

I also did the 1/2ā€ spacer on the Raptor really easy on the raptor net 1ā€ lift. Going to do the 1,5ā€ spacer on my son’s 25 XLT next. You did it the correct way, trying to do it from the front disconnecting the knuckle is a bitch! The new lower control arm makes it almost impossible without dropping the axle out. looks great!
