Not sure on the Ranger but on my maverick the engine needs to be running or maybe the ignition switch/button in accessory position, they aren’t powered when truck is off. Or you might have blown fuse, in Maverick it’s a 20 amp fuse in #84 position in fuse panel under hood. Check your manual since very well could be in a different position on the Ranger

You have to have the pickup RUNNING.
the green light is above the outlet and comes on when the pickup is running
Had the pickup running, not running - no difference.

Based on the Rangers manual, then I would assume the 20A Fuse #34 for
Rear cargo power outlet -bedliner power point in the under hood fuse box is bad. Replace with a new fuse, then crank the truck and try again with something small that doesn't pull a lot of amps. If it still doesn't work after that I'd say a trip to your dealer would be next. Good Luck

Took it to the dealership for next day service and after 3 hours of testing it was determined that the fuses were blown. Fuse #34 for the power bank in the bed and Fuse # 32 for the center console cigarette lighter power outlet. Why they were pre-blown is anyone’s guess. If this continues to happen then back to the dealership. They never worked on a 2024 so they had to follow the online shop manual provided to them from Ford. 🙄

Out of curiosity, what did you initially plug in and attempt to use? Could that have blown the fuses pulling too much amps?

I plugged in my wife’s small Mercedes air compressor to fix a bicycle tire flat

So on the 2024 there is no green light on the cover. There is an amber light above the right plug which only comes on when the truck is running.

I went to use the power outlets in the bed of the truck and it didn’t work. Checked the one in the center console and that is dead as well. Manual doesn’t mention anything about turning on a switch. Not sure why this doesn’t work. Any ideas?
Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.
