Programming mode

If anyone can help.......My 19 ranger xlt had a setting that allowed only the driver door to unlock when the engine was turned off. My 24 xlt doesn't offer this feature. I've read that you can enter programming mode and program it with the key. 1st question....can anyone confirm this? 2nd question, what is the key sequence to enter program mode? TIA ?

My wife uses that feature on her Grand Cherokee because she doesnt want the other doors unlocked at the gas station. I dont have my Ranger yet but on hers there is a setting on the display for this. I found this on page 80 of the 2024 Ranger owners manual. If you turn auto unlock off you can exit the drivers door and the others will stay locked?
SWITCHING AUTOUNLOCK ON
AND OFF
1. Press the button on the
touchscreen.
2. Press Vehicle.
3. Press Locks.
4. Switch Autounlock on or off.

On my ranger, it is only for unlocking the truck. Not for when engine is shut off. That is the exact reason why I want to activate it.

in the event of an accident per se, what will locked doors do for access to the people inside?
perhaps its by default design that the doors all unlock.
Be interesting to know one way or another.
I've read the key sequence to be ignition on and off 8 times rapidly within 10 seconds. but havent tried it myself. once youre in programming mode, you hit the lock button, then the unlock and you should get 1 beep indicating auto unlock is off.

So you're saying that in the event of an accident, all doors unlock automatically, unless I have programmed auto unlock off?
