Question about a Lomax tonneau cover

I'm looking at the Lomax tonneau covers and have found two types of clamps being used. One is more of a C-clamp design while the other appears to be more flush and attaches more directly to the bed rail.
Has anyone recently installed and can confirm which one is used?
Also any comment about Aluminium vs FRP?

I have had both. On my 2020 Ranger I had a Lomax and it used the clamps in your second picture. On my 2026 Ranger with the new style bed rail caps the Lomax uses the clamps in your first picture.

Both worked well but I prefer the setup for my current Lomax (first pic) on my 2026 Ranger. I think that style is specific for 2026+ Rangers because the bed rails have holes to accommodate that bolt and nut.

Thanks I couldn't agree more the clamps that bolt in look much more functional in grip and sleek.
Since you have on a 26, I'll ask a few more questions.
Folded how much space is taken up bulkhead back?
Also I like the FRP option, lighter (per their support), and doesn't heat up like aluminium.

It is a trifold so one third of the bed is still covered when it is folded up. But, I’m not positive what you are asking so that may not be the answer you are looking for.

No worries folded twice I'd estimate there is around 20"-24" of the bed covered. i.e. the panel that does not swing up is not noticeably longer than the others.
