I’d rather just have an XLT with a long bed so I can carry bikes and lumber and stuff when I need to..

I don’t need to pretend that I spend so much time living in the wilderness I have to carry all that equipment 24/7…

I would love to see Ford compete with the Tacoma Trailhunter by making a factory built overland truck (including a SuperCrew longbed). A good start would be the off-road chops of the Tremor and go from there. Maybe with the trademark filing there is hope?
Not sure a 'SuperCrew longbed' is possible in a Ranger without modifying the length of the frame. But to your point, maybe Ford brings back more cab/bed options.

I agree… I’d also be fine with an XLT (Tremor package please) longbed. That 2.7l or a 2.3 hybrid option would be perfect engine too. Many features that are standard equipment on the Trailhunter are overkill in my mind anyhow (sport rack and snorkel to name a couple I’d hate paying for). I do spend a bunch of time camping with our Boy Scout troop, mountain biking, kayaking and paddle boarding. For my needs, the lack of a longbed configuration is why I haven’t already bought a new Ranger.

I agree a second frame/wheelbase would be needed, but that’s a relative easy thing to accomplish. Ford has already put some effort into the idea (see attachments). Other markets had multiple cab/bed configurations for the Ranger not all that long ago.

I’m sure the Toyota Tacoma is only going to gain market share due to GM ditching configurations and Ford never offering them since the Ranger came back to the NA market. Sure is a shame since the Ranger is the best midsize on the market.

some of the other RoW markets do offer the long bed with supercab/single cab configs, I don't think anywhere offers the supercrew + longbed config posted above.

you can go to ford south africa website and use the B&P tool to config one. looks like single cab offers a 7 or 8ft bed, and a crew cab gets you a 6ft bed. interesting enough this option isn't available in Australia, either. i also think these configs are only available on lower trims, as soon as you start going up they disappear and force you into the supercrew + shortbed.

And using the economy of scale to full advantage… Ford could use the same frame used for the NA Ranger (SuperCrew/5’ bed) for a SuperCab/6’ bed. Then use the same 6’ bed for a SuperCrew longbed (extended WB). Again, Ford likely has the engineering done for configurations in other markets.

Bronco sales are down, so why not use MAP for additional Ranger sales by bringing at least the configurations Toyota offers.
