I have a 2.7 lariat and thinking of moving to a raptor.
My biggest concern is every so often I will put 1k lbs in the bed or will tow a JD 1025R + trailer (lets say 2500 +2500 = 5000) plus whatever's in the bed other tools rototiller, chain saws 4x4s whatever. plus 2 adults and a kid. moving between my house and land im developing about 15 miles away. (also would like a 2 ton excavator 4000 + 2500 = 6500 tight for 2.7 a well)

I got the 2,7 cause towing is 7500. But I long for a raptor...

I also drive too many curvy tight roads for a full size I like my mini width ranger (Another 2.7 positive)

Any thoughts?

I have eibach suspension 2 Kit and FP tune.

As far as power goes no problem at all. About once a month I pull a 12’ dump trailer with my 24’ Ranger Raptor. Last load for example I had truck and trailer fully loaded on the scale was 11,200lbs. Pulled it great, handled well, I do suggest that the trailer brakes are in good working order. Suspension in rear will definitely sag so if it was something you pulled on a weekly basis might consider helper air bags. But I have been quite impressed with its capabilities!

Have you noticed much difference on your 2.7 Fp tune? I got mine last week but only have 50 miles on it since and 750 miles total on my 2.7
Ive noticed way better shifts but not really much on the acceleration. Maybe a bit less lag.
Disappointed with the tune minus the shifting

Do you know what the tongue weight of those trailers are when loaded how you’d use them? The general target tongue weight is 10-15%, so assuming it’s in that range then for a 5,000lb load the low end of that range would basically be the Raptor’s max rated capacity with no margin.

Im not concerned about RR power. Its the tow rating from Ford. Without leafs it doesn't suffice. meanwhile a Q7 can do 7700. We need more towing

Tune wise. To me it jsut feels like sport mode is on by default. But I also went up like 1.5 inches maybe 2 so it was more to stay status quo and then when I do tires as well

Any idea on tongue weight and trailer weight? How long was the trip? I am hoping to tow a racecar with mine, but its right at the limit and I am a bit nervous about it.

No, I am not sure about tongue weight, only total weight of truck and trailer.
