If you never got the order confirmation email right after you placed your order, then either your dealer didn’t put the order in as retail or they messed up your email address in the system. Either way I’d reach out to the dealer to fix it if I were you. Unless you’re not in the U.S. as I don’t know how other countries do it.
This isn’t very accurate information. At some point ford was having dealers put all orders in as stock so it wouldn’t ever send you an email. My order was one of these stock orders. You can still get updates by using your order number and calling ford or calling your salesperson and asking them for an update. If it was a stock order you cannot get your email attached ever so don’t bother arguing with your dealer or ford

I don't have an order number. How do I get one??
PS: Im in the USA
Same I’m in the US. To get your order number you will want to call your salesperson who took your order. Ask them for two items your sales code and the order code. The sales code always starts with an F and then I think 5 numbers your order code can change a lot so don’t worry too much if you get that and then later are told it changed. I’ll post a picture of what the screen looks like that you can ask for a picture of from your salesperson. If you need a number to call ford I can get that for you.

Im so disappointed in FoMoCo.
I spent 30 years with the company and have always been loyal to Ford.
But this is ridiculous. I understand the UAW outage backed them up but not receiving any notification from Ford is totally unacceptable.
I contacted my dealer & was told my order was submitted on 5/30/23.

It probably was submitted on 5/30 but if they put it in as stock like ford asked all dealers to do then you would never get an email from ford.

Every single thing I said was accurate. I said if you didn’t get an order confirmation email it either wasn’t put in originally as retail or they messed up your email. I never said to “argue” with the dealer. I recommended to contact the dealer to find out which of those scenarios is true for them. If it’s an email mix up on a retail order, maybe they can change that. If it’s a stock order, then you want to know that and possibly have a discussion about switching it to retail for price protection.

Yes, for a few weeks Ford said to put orders in as stock. They then changed course and said to put them in as retail. That fact in no way contradicts what I wrote above or what I wrote in my previous post.

Not a Raptor, so I'm not part of the stock -vs-retail battle, by my dealer made sure to double check my email address because they said I wouldn't hear anything if it was put in incorrectly. I inferred that they wouldn't be able to fix it if it were wrong. I received a retail order confirmation within 30 minutes of their submitting my order.

Yes that’s what I’m trying to get at is that if he’s not getting emails there’s no use in trying to get them. It’s much easier to get the information and check for updates

Like Jedidiah just said below you can’t get your email added after the fact or changed. What I’m saying is it’s much easier to get the order number and check updates on your own, especially if they have the vin and can provide that. Your price can still be protected under stock with signed agreements and a down payment. All things your saying I tried when I didn’t get my emails. That’s the whole reason I gave him advice on how to track the vehicle build progress the way I did. What your telling him to try will lead to dead ends and frustration.

Telling someone “hey I pursued that method originally and it didn’t work for me but I wanted to give you advice that XYZ did work for me” is all good. Telling someone their statements are inaccurate when they aren’t isn’t.

The person I originally replied to never said if they had their order number already which is why I didn’t mention that part. They simply said they had never gotten an email. I was trying to help them troubleshoot why that might be the case.

Sounds like you already knew your order was stock and thus weren’t going to receive any emails, so there was no reason for you to even ask the question(s) I recommended to the other person since you already had that info about yours.

In any case, both of us agree on our advice to contact the dealer to gain more information. Whether someone only asks for the order number, or whether someone also asks them whether it’s stock vs retail with a possible follow up if it’s retail whether the email is correct, is ultimately up to the person making the phone call. It’s a simple choice of if they want to ask 1 question or 2 questions, possibly 3, to get all the info.

I called Ford and they had the wrong email and they didn't even have my name correct. Went back to the dealer and basically they didn't know what I was talking about except to tell me that the salesperson I had been dealing with didn't work there anymore. So probably on their end. But Ford did have my order. That was over a month ago and nothing since then. I'm home retired so it doesn't kill me like some here but as I said. Not how you run a company or a dealership for that matter. I'll give them a little more time before I pull the plug.

Hooray !!! Finally got some good news. Scheduled for 2-26. (Coincidently my birthday) It took me calling Ford to get this info and to finally get a Vin # from them. My dealer did none of this and I never got an email from anyone. But still good news and something to finally look forward to. Good luck everyone.
