Speed Limit Sign Reader

Second car, I bought a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a Speed Limit sign reader. It reads and show the Speed Limit sign on the dash. If you go faster than the posted Speed Limit, the Speed Limit sign on your dash get s red border around it.

It just seems so crazy.I'm sure there's a way to turn it off in settings

"drivers aids" settings. i have the display of the speed limit, but i dont get a warning if i am speeding.

I’ll second that, ford or jeep? If you’re asking about the Jeep, you may be SOL. They leave no room for any changes in their adaptive cruise control strategy usually.

If it’s the ford:
Under the settings in driver assists, hit the adaptive cruise control setting, and speed limit recognition setting. Both have a “tolerance” slider

Under the Adaptive cruise control, that will raise or lower your cruise control speed to the posted speed +/- your tolerance

Under the speed limit recognition, that will basically just flash the posted speed on the dash if you are +/- the tolerance you chose.


I have the adaptive set to 5 over on both settings. Or, you can turn them off completely

It doesn't bother me at all. It's small and tucked way down in the corner. I am not sure if it changes color. I am frequently looking at it to verify the speed limit especially where I don't frequently drive.

I had no idea any car or truck came with a Speed Limit sign reader. It's news to me
