The side mirror cameras give you a camera view on the center screen when your towing and use your turn signals. Anyone try to use a dummy plug so that they always work even when not towing and use your turn signals for lane changes or turns.

You can turn the cameras on in the menu. There are like 5 camera modes under the hamburger menu after you got the camera button.

Yes, I’ve seen that, but when you have a trailer connected the cameras automatically come on when the turn signal is used because the blind spot is disconnected when trailer is connected. I’m wondering if when no trailer is connected if you can still get the camera view

I don't think blind spot is disconnected with a trailer. In fact, when you put in the system how long the trailer is that you're towing, blind spot recalibrates to include the length of the trailer.

Bringing this question back to life because I have the same question as the OP and his was never really answered here.
Is there any way to get the side view cameras to automatically display on the screen when the turn signals are activated and there is no trailer hooked up? My previous vehicle (2016 Honda Accord) had this as a standard feature and I loved it. Why would Ford limit this function to only be available while towing?
If this is not available via built in setting, can it be achieved via Forscan hack or a dummy trailer attachment?

There are some practical reasons why they wouldnt allow it all the time, but regardless you could look at something like this. That should trick the system.

I have not yet tried this - it's still in the "TBD" section of the Crowdsourced Forscan spreadsheet, so someone tried this on I presume an F150 (the comment says requires newest 12/23 ipma update).

If you try this and it works, let me know and I"ll move it to the "confirmed" tab.

Dobrý den, zkoušel jsem aktivovat funkci bočního pohledu přívěsu dle návodu a nejde to. Tlačítko se objeví, ale je temně nefunkční a první obrazovka, ovládací karta, zmizela. Neznáš jiný způsob.

Translation; Hello, I tried to activate the side view function of the trailer according to the instructions and it doesn't work. The button appears but is darkly non-functional and the first screen, the control tab, has disappeared. You don't know any other way.
You’re going to want to translate to English, if you’re desiring any type of response. Cheers.👍🇺🇸

ditto. Would be wonderful to match our car beahvior and see side view cam with turn signal and no trailer. Hopefully there is approved way to do it.

Bummer. I hadn't tried it yet either but thanks for the info.
