I was driving this Sunday to the store when I turned right to go down a street I pressed the throttle and felt no power. I let off and slowly pressed the throttle again and heard/ felt a loud thud from the truck slamming into gear. I let off the throttle once again thinking it was just a hiccup but when I went to press it again another loud thud and almost grinding noise proceeded. When I looked at my gear selection gauge it was going up and down trying to find a gear. At this point I thought I had destroyed my transmission and was stuck in the middle of the road. I put my hazards on placed the truck in neutral, park then back in drive. When it was back in drive and i pressed on the throttle the truck felt like it was in limp mode. I got to the nearest light, parked the truck and turned it off then back on. Once back on it felt as if nothing happened and was driving completely normal. Also there were no check engine lights during this whole ordeal. At this time I was scared of further incidents so I took the truck back home and parked it until the next day when I took it to the dealer. On the way to the dealer it drove completely normal. I get to the dealer explain what happened, dropped my truck off then left. I messaged the advisor the next day asking for an update and he stated that everything was fine, no codes and seems to be running normal. I ask if they can look into TSB and if they can do a deep dive into the TCM for historical logs and pending codes. I message the next day for another update and he states there are no trouble codes, the truck is shifting perfectly and there are no TSB for this issue. Now I will be picking up my truck later today with the worry of this happening again. What should I do?

I imagine you slowed down to turn right so am wondering if your auto start/stop (ASS) triggered? Not saying it did but am also wondering if you are driving with ASS active. I kept forgetting to turn it off every time I started the truck so I installed a 4D Tech ASS eliminator and never get that hesitation anymore. It goes in behind the glove box and can be a mother to install so I got some help. Have not regretted it one bit.

I always have ASS off but I might have to get that. Weird thing is I feel like my trucks’ shift points are even better now. 🤔
