Interested in hiring an auto transport company. Looking for open transport. For those who have experience, if you could send some recommendations. Thanks!

I have had pretty good luck with u-ship.
Generally get the best deals posting the pice you want pay, and negotiate from there.

Are they a middle man ? I'll need to find a transport company and I've heard it's littered with scammers.
More like a trucking leader board, there are logistics companies that due work to the posted loads, but you do get pic which company offers you want use, including many carries that independent and work direct with you.

Think of it as broker that helps you post your load out there for all the truckers to see and bid for.

I've used Bears Transport when I had to get my father's bronco everglades from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas. You can either go open or closed transport. Liz comes with high recommendations from myself and others on the rennlist forums (Porsche forums). Email her your detail and she will assist you.

Noticed this too, so many brokers. Heard stories about car never being picked up, damaged in transport, driver asking extra $, etc.

Got a text from my Plan B dealer which is 4 hours away saying they'll offer to drive the truck to me no charge, not sure how I feel about that.

I’ve shipped a few cars open carrier. Best luck I’ve had was booking 2 weeks out, asking for the carrier’s MC number and insurance, and taking photos at pickup and delivery. Avoid rock bottom quotes and don’t load the car with stuff, also expect a 1-3 day pickup window.

Last year I went with A1AutoTransport for an F-150 on open transport. They did door to door with GPS updates and a detailed BOL, price wasn’t the lowest, but it arrived on time with no surprises. They’ve been around a while and didn’t charge me until the pickup was confirmed, which helped dodge broker games.
