UPDATE: FIXED!!!
So after all the useless surveys Ford sent me that I guess just went into the void and after all the complaining and emailing w the original dealer I bought from, nothing had happened - I was beyond annoyed.
But as luck would have it, I was attending the Ranger Raptor Assault School day out in Utah (which while a lot of travel for 1 day of driving is still great fun), and my partner for the day was an incredibly nice guy, Tim, who is the Service Manager at a California Ford dealer.
We talked quite a bit during the day and at one point, I relayed my problem with the door switch panel to him. We parted ways after sharing contact info, and he looked up the part when he got home. Sent me the part number and told me his view said the part was available, and that if my dealer gave me the runaround again, he’d send it to me.
So I contacted my dealer and they said that they had a different part number on order. They then ordered the part that Tim recommended and shipped it to me when it arrived. The install of the new switch panel took 10 minutes, 5 of which was watching a YouTube video and 3 of which was finding my trim panel tools in the garage.
Now my mirrors fold whenever I want, my truck is complete, and Tim is my hero.
Thanks Tim if you’re out there!!
