Im planning to wire up a couple of ditch lights that have a secondary DRL feature. Im in a Ranger that does NOT have Aux switches. Ideally I would like the DRL feature in the aux lights to run with the OEM running lights in the headlights (without having to switch) and will use a switch to actually power the full ditch lights. Considering a couple options, but they all have loose wiring harnesses and pretty generic instructions that aren't really helpful.

The switched ditch light is pretty straightforward, but looking for advice on how to wire the DRL feature. Considering the following options:

- Maybe modifying an unused F150 LEDs harness from a set of grill lights that I don't use, since I know these lights are set up to run with the OEM DRL.
- Splicing the DRL wire into the OEM wiring harness. If I did this, does anyone have the wiring diagram or know if this is possible?
- Is there a fuse I could use to power the DRL feature?
- Is there a harness that would work for this?

Any suggestions or alternatives that I'm not considering? Any reason why the options above wouldn't work?

Worst case I could have a second switch for the DRL, but I'd rather not go that route if possible.

Diode Dynamics came out with the DSwitch. in april. it has a dedicated backlighting channel and you can tell the dswitch when it powers on with to turn on back lighting. or use one the programable trigger wires and tap the drl wire to tell the dswitch to turn on the backlighting.

I'll have my DSwitch in a few days. and then ill size up how im installing it, and alao kinda waiting to see if any the companies making vehicle specific brackets make a engine bay/cab controller mount.

but they also use phone app to. thats also how you do all the programming

Looks like a nice kit, but pretty $. I ultimately got lights without backlight, but Im pretty sure I could have either (A) set up a secondary drl switch on my auxbeam with the third wire for all of the backlit lights or (B) fusetap the backlight wire so that it operates as DRL. Option A would require a switch and option B would not.
