Awesome truck. I'm liking the Marsh Grey color more and more!

Question...does the PPF make the paint more shiny, or increase the glossiness? Or does it remain about the same?

I bookmarked your thread for future reference. Thanks.
Thank you, I really like the earthy color of Marsh Gray. Below is solid answer I found and agree with. I also have XPEL installed a my 21 Super Duty Tremor, Tundra Pro, and Honda Accord. We had the full front covered in XPEL on the Honda in 2014 and it still looks great. It’s all about the installer being excellent at his craft. XPEL PPF makes hand washing a breeze. Find an installer that does high end cars and trucks. There is a reason owners of Porsche,Bentley, Benz, Lambos, Ferraris, Lexus, spend the money to have XPEL installed. If the installer applies his craft these cars, your going to get a top quality install. 👍🏻

How Gloss Changes with XPEL PPF
    • New Paint: On a brand-new car, clear gloss PPF preserves the exact factory shine and measures above 90 gloss units. It acts as an optically clear window over your color pigment. [1]
    • Older or Dulling Paint: If your car has fine swirl marks, light wash scratches, or a slightly faded clear coat, the film fills in and hides those minor imperfections. This makes the final surface look shinier and newer than the raw paint next to it. [1, 2, 3]
    • Matte Option: XPEL Stealth PPF is a completely different product designed with a satin finish. It drops the gloss level significantly (around 23 gloss units) to turn a shiny factory paint job into a flat matte look.[1, 2, 3]
    • Adding Extra Shine: If you want even more gloss after installation, professional detailers can apply a specialized ceramic coating (like XPEL Fusion Plus) directly on top of the gloss PPF

Thanks for the detailed answer. I'd like my Ranger to be completely done in PPF. I know it will
be expensive, but I intend on keeping it for long term. It will be my baby!
I live near Los Angeles so there are many detail/PPF shops to select from.
Thanks for all the tips.

The shop I use, has a standard package of the front end and forward roof area, plus behind the door handles and door edge guards. I also had the lower plate done in satin black (NC) because the silver grey looked out of place.
