Sounds like you need to find another dealer.

You may be right as I now see it has a priority code of 30 which is a stock order so it's going to be awhile before I see a Ranger no matter what I do. I see now that part of this frustration is in my not understanding the ordering process.

That sucks. I have a feeling you aren’t the only one that fell into a trap. There’s going to be a lot of guys who think dealers had multiple allocations or were told they had the one allocation. Only to find out you have nothing.
Sorry man. Hopefully you can find away to get the truck you want.

brother, i ordered 5/29/2023 and no vin. you will get your truck, but patience is the game here. If you can't handle that I'm sorry, but you are gunna have to go pick up something used or an f150

Priority code 20 is a stock order. Priority codes 1-19 are retail. So you’re not going to get a VIN. The dealer will when Ford decides to start building stock orders, but the truck is not officially assigned to you specifically unless it’s a retail order. This also means you’re not price protected.

Thanks for the info Gator, that does make a lot of sense. I’ll ask my sales guy if they can change it to retail, but I guess it doesn’t really matter that much at this point. I did put a non refundable deposit down and the manager and myself signed and dated a deposit form for MSRP + $2995 adm, so I should be good, and have pictures of the form and us signing it. I remember they also wanted a $25k adm on a 2020 GT350R Heritage Edition. I now regret not paying $25k over because I bought the same car at mecum earlier this year, used with 1300 miles, for $110k after fees, which is $15k over what I would have spent 3 years ago. I did manage to talk them down on my Shelby Raptor from $100k to $85k, so maybe there is hope yet for crooked dealers lol.
