Does anyone know if the RR has longer control arms than the standard Ranger. I was wondering because of how it would effect wheel offset, also suspension travel but thats a different question.

yes I have Bronco arms, ranger raptor arms and bronco raptor arms...just for this purpose...the Ranger Raptor are 1.2" longer than the normal Bronco...on each side....the bronco is nearly identical to the normal ranger.

You can buy Ranger Raptor upper control arms lower control arms axle shaft and tie rod and everything will bolt right onto a normal Ranger or bronco and give you about 2 in more wheel travel

That sounds pretty cost prohibitive unless you’re grabbing used parts off a totaled truck.

That would be pretty cool mod.

Yeah, thats the way to do it. I need to do the same thing for my GTI. Backup cameras, updated head unit, bigger breaks etc. There should be tons of wrecked mk7 GTI's sitting junk yards by this.

A guy did it to his recent FJ and I think it cost him $6000, all aftermarket parts though. He managed to build an FJ that was showing up Wranglers.

My first problem to solve with my FX4 is the ground clearance, there just isn't enough. I'm going to get some 33.1" or up tires and do a front spacer lift. In a couple of years maybe swap the control arms and do a high end suspension swap.

So, I guess this means the FX4 needs more offset than the RR. Does anyone know what the offset is on the stock FX4 wheels? So far we know that +35 works with a 285/70/r17.

not if you compare the cost to a nice set of aftermarket UCAs...OEM is far cheaper....and all the "long travel" kits out there are vastly more expensive.

Sorry to highjack the thread but my question would be, would I be able to bolt on the Bronco Raptor or F 150 Raptor arms and shocks to the RR?

I don't think there is any commonality between the F150 and the Ranger.

So the control arms are 1 inch longer on the Raptor than the FX4, this would effect poke. If you did exactly the same wheel and tire setup as the raptor it might not clear the inside fender at full lock, this is the question we need to answer. I think the tire would still clear the control arms but would it clear the fender? I wonder what minimum positive offset is necessary for a 285 tire. We need to find someone that put Raptor wheels and tires on their FX4.
- I'm still a little curious if you can pull off 285/75R17's with the +55 offest, I know it required removing the crash bars and smashing the pinch welds with a +25 offset. There probably isn't a way to pull it off without removing the crash bars, just curious.
