I am curious if anyone has done it to a current generation Ranger Raptor.
Super charged or normal aspirated, I would love 5.0L v8 in a Ranger Raptor.

RTR has put a 7.3L in a Bronco Raptor and plan on selling some, but there's a lot of custom parts on that Bronco and the price tag is in the neighborhood of $250k.

I'm sure a 7.3 would fit in the Ranger Raptor's engine bay, but someone needs to put forth the engineering and effort to see what's needed and if the factory electronics can be made to cooperate with the swap.

As cool as it sounds to have a V8 in the RR the cost of these conversions make it not even close to worth it. It's like 57K USD for the killa conversions kit. For that money and the cost of the truck you can almost have a Raptor R and none of the issues that come with a engine swapped vehicle.

I am just glad to see that it can be done. Meaning Ford could drop a 5.0L into the RR should they see the light and want to go for it.

With emissions and related regulations returning to some sort of level of common sense.
I can see there actually being potential for making it happen. I know it’s not something that happens overnight, but I think many of the smart manufacturers will work to capitalize on building the vehicles people want.

Now if this v8 swap was more responsible priced even $20-25k would get me considering the swap. At the 58k essentially the same price as the whole truck, it is a bit unrealistic. .

Are there more videos on the current generation v8 swap?
Not finding anything but the first gen RR v8 swap on YT.

This makes absolutely no financial sense. Mean, if you got 60k to throw out the window, then go for it. Otherwise. Other than cool. Its a waste of money.

Yeah.... I see the conversion as a waste of money since the stock RR already makes 410HP and with the Ford tune significantly more. A good part of the allure of the RR is it's perfect balance of weight and suspension and on/off road capability. I see messing with that makes it yet another hot rod truck with a motor too big for it to be a serious off road truck.

I don't see Ford doing it. Would be cool sure but I just don't think it makes sense with the way they are mainly trending with their engine options.

It would be a cool option though and if I had the choice of buying either from the factory I'm pretty sure I'm taking the V8 lol. I wouldn't want it as a swap though too expensive and swaps always have issues.

Other than not having the V8 sound I'm pretty pleased with the 3.0 especially with the FP tune.

I have not seen any videos of one yet either.

The price would have to be fairly in line with what it would cost to replace the 3.0, though. It would be pretty much a side-grade power wise, but you'd gain the V-8 exhaust note and more than likely similar low end torque without having to rely on turbos.

I could be wrong, but I think the weight of the 7.3L and the 3.0 T.T are pretty close to each other.(I'm accounting for the turbos and related hardware)

The only feasible swaps IMO would be either find a wrecked F150 raptor R and swap out power train, ECU, or go Gen2 coyote with 2.3 TVS, 6R80 transmission. 10r80 is a poop transmission for high horsepower applications. I owned a 2018 mustang GT 10r80 making 800whp and I constantly had to do transmission relearn to keep it from flaring shifts.

No way a 3.0 v6 weight is anything near a 7.3 . The turbo's are tiny, and all the pipes and intercooler don't weigh much.

According to the search results, the 7.3L weighs roughly 180lbs more.
