Watched their install video, informative and appears to be easy. Only bug I saw on the website was "click to hear sound" but there wasn't a button i could find. I am seriously considering this CAI for my RR, goof price too from the manufacturer. Will reasearch retailers for prices and with Fathers day around the corner maybe a sale ?!

Shipping June 12th. Just in time for my RR to arrive.

The orange one is nice, twice as much as the S&B CAI for some reason.

I just went back and added it to my cart, says it's backordered and typically ships in 2 weeks, free shipping!

Here's a screenshot of my cart. When I'm freed up tomorrow I will research prices online.

I was looking at the AFE but my hangup is they advertise that their cold air intake with their filter increases air flow 11% over stock.

Yet they also advertise that their drop in air filter in the stock air box increases air flow by 68% over stock.

Which leaves me with two thoughts:

1 - Their actual intake is SIGNIFICANTLY more restrictive than the stock intake and they are offsetting that with a less restrictive filter (that will quickly become more restrictive than stock as it gets dirty?).

2 - Why the hell would I buy their restrictive intake when I can get way better airflow from their drop in filter according to their own measurements and the stock intake is already a cold air intake?

I think that just means the intake is the choke point and not the filter. The 68% improvement in the filter (if it’s even true) isn’t limited by intake piping. You aren’t going to get anywhere near that improvement if the intake piping is the limiting factor, and without upgrading the intake piping the improvement of the filter may be zero. The impact of a high flow filter is probably negligible with the stock intake piping.

I'm not so sure. Their own graphic literally says it's measured airflow comparing to the stock air flow with the stock filter media for the 11% improvement. It doesn't say anything about the raw flow of the intake.

Since the release of the Gen 5 CAI has been a controversial subject, more so then than now. Early on there was an ex-Ford engineer that warned against it and severely doubted any performance or mileage benefits. I wouldn't buy for sound alone and after tune and all exterior mods I am only considering the back section of the new Borla exhaust. BUT I will be following this thread. If loos counted that one is nice as I've seen.....but at about 3K miles I don't think I've even had my hood up :)
Same. I'll finally be opening the hood though because I bought hood struts lol

Mine just hit 3k miles and I just shut the hood…..for a week or two ?.
Also the factory intake is one of the most restrictive the guys have ever seen. And that crossover laying on top of the engine should at least have some sort of heat shield underneath. Imagine being the ecu trying to control everything when all the air is coming through one filter that’s suppling a turbo underneath it and another 4ft away that’s had to go through an inferno tube before it gets there. Like drinking cold & hot water at the same time. It definitely would take an engineer to figure out how to make that work.
Kinda like those phony "vents" in the hood. The left one has a drain tray under it for water and the right one has a plug in the same hole to make the water goe to the left one. 🤷
