Thought it was me accidentally hitting the start button just forward of the shifter. I was sitting at idle and it just started several times after shutting it off. I have heard of similar stories. Thoughts/Inputs? Thanks!

Was it particularly humid that day? I believe the truck has a humidity sensor and will auto activate the A/C to bring the humidity level down to help keep the windows from fogging up.

Yesterday the high was 74 deg/F, 84% humidity. Nice breeze, sunny, all windows down. Typical coastal marine weather here.

Longshot, but was there any voice recognition going on? My AC modulates if I'm talking on the phone or using voice commands etc.

No talking, parked at idle. I had just installed a Rubigrid (Bulletpoint) molle in a new dashboard tray, referred to as a "finish panel" and had to give it a little pop for the new clips to engage. By all means not a major thump. Thanks

Even though the temperature is not high, 84% relative humidity is pretty high. I tried looking up what the threshold for humidity is, but can't find one. I guess Ford's system calculates it on the fly. The name of the system is Enhanced Windshield Anti-Fogging Strategy (EWAFS). There doesn't seem to be a way to disable it, but there were some options offered in the following thread:

Well TB, you are spot on. I notice that 84% RH was unusually high for these parts. I guess in some ways the sensor is an advance warning weather device as today is less RH but extremely uncomfortable, this all is owing to a tropical Mexican monsoonal front coming in from the south which is typical for this area. I did verify that the 2020 Ranger has the device. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction as I found out more below. Thanks again and over and out.
