I think there is a misunderstanding... On USDM raptor all aux switches are independent of any of the other lighting switches. On ROW trucks AUX5 and AUX6 are enabled only when the high beams are on. I'd like (and there are a few others in a thread on this forum) that would like a way to restore the ROW functionality so that my lightbar works with the Auto High Beam function in the truck.
There's a highbeam trigger wire under the BCM behind the driverside kick panel. look for the blue tape. I saw it in the ford bodybuilders guide. my highbeam trigger, and my marker light trigger wires were labeled correctly for their location, but the wires were incorrect. swapped. lol my pos light(marker) was my high beam trigger, and the highbeam wire was my marker.

I dont have a RR, but I used my Diode Dynamics D-Switch, and one of the programable trigger wires to turn on my lightbar.

Also my DD c1r I took off the 7pin harness I had with them in my old rig, and ran a wire from the bcm to the back for my cap, and tapped into that. also asper the body builder guide. the 7pin plug still supplies marker, ground, and reverse power.

Some amazing info here. Couple questions
  • In your photo I don't see the other wire, The BBLB says there two wires:
    • High Beams: Grey with brown stripe (don't see it)
    • Park Lamps: Violet with Green Stripe (visible)
    • But you say the BBLB has them labelled reverse?
  • I have a raptor running multiple lights on various AUX switches, (ditch, high beams, fog) how would I use this wire to cut power to them all? Can it tie into the AUX relay box somehow? I am assuming this is how the ROW models work. Or do I need a D-Switch (which would defeat purpose of the aux switches)

no ford assembly line physically labeled them wrong. If someone never saw the bblb they wouldn't know unless they tried them. also the highbeam wire colour doesnt match the colour listed in the bblb, either assembly line fucked up. or the person writing the bblb. lol

But the wire in my truck with the physical highbeam tag voilet green wire, is actually my marker light wire(correctly coloured as per the bblb)

the physical POS Light(position light, aka marker light) tag(voilet and orange wire) is actually my highbeam wire.(colour different in bblb)

the ignition on wire(run start) is the green white wire. only has power when the ignition is on in run

you add a relay in between the blunt cut wires. have it get its main power from the aux switch, then the blunt cut wires would be the on trigger for the relay. so when you dont want the lights on with highbeams, or other instance, just flip the aux switch off.

yes the dswitch would be replacing the aux switches. or give you more output for more accessories if you add it, and the aux switches is not enough outputs

Any thoughts on a 3rd brake light? I hate the chrome, and I also think it would be cool if we had the 3 red lights like an F150 raptor
Get the Morimoto one, i put it on mine and i love it

Yeah, let us know how it works out. I didn't follow exactly, but I think I got the gest of basically what you are doing.

So here is some basic components we have that can do similar things. If some help or don't I just throught I would list them.

First, the tail light adapter. These plug into the factory tail lights and already have a diode built in. This blocks backfeed from any other power source or switch automatically-

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...s-system-works-with-many-vehicles-see-details

Then there is the SHORT harness with Tail Light Adapter. (So it included a tail light adapter like above)

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...s-system-works-with-many-vehicles-see-details

Then you have the Long Extension. It can plug into a short harness to go to switches up the frame.

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...s-system-works-with-many-vehicles-see-details

Hopefully you can follow this...
This is the Full Rear Harness....and I will explain more after the link..

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...s-system-works-with-many-vehicles-see-details

We are going to update the photo for the full rear harness soon. We did some upgrades.

So think of the system like this.

You have a tail light adapter.
You have an Extension to switches
You have a Short Harness (Plugs into 2 lights and it has ports on each end)

So 3 pieces.

The Full rear harness is a combo of the short harness and the extension plugged in.

The short harness with tail light adapter is the short harness and tail light adapter.

So you can plug either piece or BOTH pieces into the short harness. You can even do that later. If you wanted to add the tail light adapter or the extension after the fact. Because its expandable.

So... for the built in wires back there. Instead of the extension. You can simply plug one of these into the port for the full rear extension and crimp it onto the wires on the truck.

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...ors?_pos=3&_psq=add+on+connector&_ss=e&_v=1.0

At this moment, we don't have the short harness on the site WITHOUT the tail light adapter or named "full rear harness" without the extension. However, based on this scenario, where you don't want the auto triggers and want to use the pass throughs. It is something we will probably separate. We hadn't listed it that way before though because it needs a power source from one spot or the other.

We also have something else for the special configurations someone may want to do on their own. with a sealed add on one way Diode.

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...ess-system?_pos=1&_psq=diode+add&_ss=e&_v=1.0

And of course you can get add on connectors-

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...ithout-connectors?_pos=1&_sid=b0610f8d6&_ss=r

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...ithout-connectors?_pos=2&_sid=b0610f8d6&_ss=r

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...ithout-connectors?_pos=3&_sid=b0610f8d6&_ss=r

And with our harness system. Like Legos.. You can build anything you want plug n play with various pieces-

https://specialtyperformanceparts.com/collections/spv-parts-harness-system

So hopefully there is some useful info there.

John

Any update on the grill marker lights?

Thanks!

Gotcha.

So probably cleanest method to do this would be to fish the blunt cut wire through the firewall, add a relay with sufficient amperage to either the power mains on the AUX switch box, or to the individual circuit you are trying to affect.

Any idea which wire is the power main on the aux box?

the website to download the body builder layout guide is there. just search to narrow to just ranger.

if you want ignition switched, run off the battery post either the high draw side or the low draw side, to power the relay, and the ignition blunt cut as the trigger.

if say want the highbeams to trigger a lightbar, and the ability to keep it off. use what ever aux switch is rated for the light you are using use the aux to power the relay, and the highbeam blunt cut wire to trigger said relay.
the blunt cuts are not long enough to go through the customer access spot referenced in the guide but you can run your own wires throught it. the grommet is double walled.

the guide has so much technical info. size dimensions, measurements. etc. and has been very handy in adding to my truck

We are still working on development for these different kits, but I am sure we will.
If you have anything specific in mind, please feel free to message us and we will take down your request and see what we can do to make it happen for you.

In any case, as it is with all of our kits, the lights and component combinations will be customizable and paired together with discounts. So, you will be able to save money on those lights and our plug-n-play wiring when the brackets do become available. 😉

Thanks!
