Sealing top of tailgate to tonneau.

Anyone having issues with the 3-d contour on the top of the tailgate as it relates to sealing the tailgate to a tonneau? I’m looking for cheap, easy, solutions with weather stripping as I work toward weatherproofing the bed area.

Anyone having issues with the 3-d contour on the top of the tailgate as it relates to sealing the tailgate to a tonneau? I’m looking for cheap, easy, solutions with weather stripping as I work toward weatherproofing the bed area.

I have the Retrax cover and the weatherstripping was a tad too short from connecting with the top of the tailgate thus letting in water.
I used this and added it to the tonneau seal to extend its length. Worked well.

The arrow points to the Amazon piece installed on the weatherstripping on the cover like a taco shell. It goes the whole length wide and gave about an 1/8” more in depth to match up with the tailgate.

Thanks for the idea. I did something similar. Now I need to get grommets in all of the bed holes, buy a tailgate seal kit and find a way to seal up the bulkhead voids.

If you’re talking about the voids in the corners I just crammed a tennis ball in each. That seems to have worked.
