Ford Performance Tunes are locked to the VIN. They won't work on a different truck.

Generally, yes. Ford performance can unlock it though. I spoke to them about it in case i got a different ranger and gave the procal to my son. They said they can unlock it

Your truck is registered threw Ford that it has there calibration Do you have to unregister it when you remove it

It’s just a scammer. They probably don’t even own a ranger much less one with a tune.
don’t have a 2.7 but the tune worked wonders on the 3.0. Shifting smoothed out, the increase to go and torque were immediately noticed, and gas mileage increased. I would assume the 2.7 tune would work similarly.
