How did the Borla change the exhaust note?
Sponsored
I actually went with the MBRP exhaust. The tone is there. There is some drone at certain speeds, I actually didn't like it at first, sounded to much like a car with a broken exhaust, but then I had my wife drive it and man, it sounds good on the outside. I'm used to it now and I like it.How did the Borla change the exhaust note?
Yes, sorry I meant MBRP. I assume you can't see the tailpipe from the rear now?I actually went with the MBRP exhaust. The tone is there. Not at all and that's the main reason I did it. I like taking my truck on trails as well and was always worried about it scraping. I see alot of trucks around me with exhaust all bent up. Lol.Yes, sorry I meant MBRP. I assume you can't see the tailpipe from the rear now?
I am not a fan of the way Ford makes it stick out of one side. I opted for the dual rear exit on my 5G. I like symmetry! Took me a while to get used to the sound to, but I have never heard it driven from outside. Not at all and that's the main reason I did it. Your camper came with brakes?Hi, id like to introduce myself. Ive had my truck for almost a year now and want to put all the updates and pictures I have done somewhere so I can look back. Ive done alot to the truck and I absolutely love it. If you see anything ive done and want to ask questions, feel free to message me. Ive had some help from people on here and its been awesome. Thank you guys! Anyways, here she is.
This is the day they sent me pictures after waiting 8+ months for my order. I fell in love right away.

One of the first upgrades I did was the grill lights and vent lights. I also put led brake lights, reverse lights, 3rd brake light, basically all the outside lights. I also got it tinted.

I also got the seat covers, tonneau cover, and bug shield all done right away as well.

The weekend I picked up the truck, I took my wife on an anniversary trip and drove 1500+ miles. It was comfortable and amazing. Then we came home and I installed the leveling kit and the wheels and tires. 285/70/17 with +12 offset on the rocktrix wheels. Here's a before and after.

At this point, I was so happy with how my truck was looking. I was ready to go upnorth, (I live in michigan) and hit the trails. So I did exactly that. We loaded up the popup, headed north for 5 hours. She towed perfect. We had a blast!

I also didn't like the exhaust hanging put of the back so I did the mbrp exhaust where it dumps in front of the rear axle. Another thing is did with the exhaust was the s&b cold air intake! Man I love this 2.7l motor!

One issue i realized with towing was when I had the bed loaded with firewood, and my trailer connected, my backend sagged. Now, I know that's because I put the leveling kit on but still, I wanted to correct this. I'm waiting to install them for this year but I ended up buying air bags. Another thing is that I did not order my truck with the tow package like a dummy... so, I was using a Bluetooth brake controller. It worked well for me but im planning on keeping this truck. So I went on a mission to install an aftermarket trailer brake. Well, I did it. I was able to, with some help from this forum, wire in a brake controller into the factory harness and wire up and install a factory oem 7 way plug. And it works!

also, after my trip upnorth, i had a little to much fun on the trails. I ended up scratching my truck all up. I wasnt happy but i ended up getting ceramic coating. It looked like new again! I also got the undercarriage sprayed to protect from the salt in the winter. I also noticed that with the tires offset, I was getting alot of spray up the side of the truck and all over my trailer. I know that's a trade off with bigger tires but I decided I wanted to try and fix it a little bit. I ended up getting the husky rvl fender flares and installed them. And they are flush with my tires and I think they look great! Very happy with how they turned out. So with all that being said, this is what my truck currently is sitting at waiting for the air bags to be installed and a swing case tool box for the bed. I have a few more things I want to get but they can wait.

If you read all that, wow. Thanks. I'm just trying to keep track of everything I did... any questions, just ask! I'm sure I'm missing a few things. I'll try to remember or as I install more stuff, I'll update or reply to this!

It did. So I want to utilize them. Plus, we plan on upgrading soon. Lol.Your camper came with brakes?
I'm thinking about doing the same on the exhaust, only thing is I don't like the drone noise. My trips are usually 4500 miles, and the noise gets to me after a while. I wonder if wrapping the muffler helps at all with the drone nose?I actually went with the MBRP exhaust. The tone is there. I do a lot of off-road trails and you will drag the pipes coming out of the rear, coming out the side is the way to go. I will say that coming out the back looks way cool and sounds good also but tearing up the exhaust is not worth it.Not at all and that's the main reason I did it. Fords tune for the 2.7 is about 4-6 weeks out. At least for the 2025.I'm thinking about doing the same on the exhaust, only thing is I don't like the drone noise. Truck looks great by the way, I really like the color. I'm still wanting a good tune for the 2.7 which seems to be hard to come by. I'm not sure I would go the Ford tunning as of yet, might not have a choice at this point.
Also, mine comes out right in front of the rear axle, dumped to the ground.I do a lot of off-road trails and you will drag the pipes coming out of the rear, coming out the side is the way to go.
