More of a general question but do these stay in place all the time or only when loading something like say lumber? Not that I have ever looked but have not seen these things before.

The tailgate mat crews down using the screws that hold yhe inside tailgate panel on. The bed mat just lays in the bed. They sure keep your bed and spray liner from getting torn up. I have both the tripleAliner bed and tailgate mats on my truck

I went with the "6. 2024+ Full-Cover Tailgate mat" and honestly, I couldn't be happier with it unless it was installed for me. I left it out flat for a few days in the house - then an hour in some desert sun before installing it. The holes aren't perfectly lined up at first glance - but it's not a solid piece, it has some give. The instructions said you can carefully trim the holes, I didn't find that necessary. I installed the screws loosely and pulled the cover lightly to get the screws to line up, with some starting at an angle and then moving the screw upright. The 2-sided tape is already in place to finish the job with you pulling off the 2nd side yourself. There is no need for how I installed this with pictures and what not as the instructions are already spot on.
I'm especially happy with the way it wraps around the top of the tail gate. I was always worried about stuff getting under the top cap and pulling it off. Not anymore.
